I was really excited to go. But all he did was talk and act like an idiot. The music was not really interesting. Nothing like the videos I had seen. Maybe he just wasn't into it that night. Who knows.

Really, downvotes for not liking a show?

I see the image of Jesus in that rock. Amiright?

Man, I just posted about how horrible he was live. Then I saw this. Honestly, I am stunned. And a little jealous. So glad you had a great time. He should have paid us for the show I went to.

I went to see him perform on the strength of this video. Convinced four people to go with me.

He was absolutely horrible. Horrible. I was ashamed. My friends just looked at me like, what the fuck did you get me to see this guy for? Ugh.

What is a "fact" you overheard someone saying that you knew to be completely untrue? by tictacteauxin AskReddit

[–]zenmasher -2 points-1 points ago

It is a common misconception that the Nazis killed 6 million people (in concentration camps)...and slightly ironic that this "fact" is (indirectly) referenced in a thread about incorrect facts.

The Nazis killed roughly 6 million Jews in the Holocaust, but the number of people killed in the Holocaust is around 11 million people, nearly twice the number that people often cite. There are many reasons for this, but we would do well not to forget the other 5 million people. Seems unfair to let their memory be erased.

What's your "Go-to" Joke? by 59Fiftyin AskReddit

[–]zenmasher 0 points1 point ago

A little girl is crying on her front stoop when a neighbor walks by. In an attempt to console the little girl the neighbor sits down and asks her what's wrong.

"My cat died this morning," sobs the little girl.

After a minute of trying to find the right words the neighbor says, "Don't worry, honey, you're cat is with Jesus now."

The little girl lifts up her head with a face of dismay. "What would Jesus want with a dead cat?"

Weird comment. NYSE is the worlds largest market exchange. The NASDAQ is the second. The NYSE is larger than the the following 5 world markets. When you combine the NYSE and the NASDAQ they are larger than the next 9 exchanges. Both the NYSE and the NASDAQ are located in the Wall St. area. Seems like a pretty good place to protest.

My guess is that Wall St. is basically empty on the weekend...a very eerie ghostown actually...which would be easier to occupy than when it is completely packed from 8-6 during the week. We'll see if that was a good strategy or not. I mean, it is easy to figure out who the protesters are today as opposed to a really busy day when they can't keep people out of there.

Sinead O'Connor tore up that photo in protest of the Church's cover up of child abuse. We all owe her an apology. by [deleted]in pics

I don't owe her an apology. I supported her the whole time. And often pointed out irony when she was booed off stage at the Bob Dylan tribute concert lauding him for being courageous enough to do something worth being booed off stage for.

She may be crazy, but I have a lot of respect for Ms. O'Connor.

What about the people the biker cites who are double parked? We didn't see film of the officer giving them a ticket, but I find it unlikely. Perhaps I should jump to that conclusion, but I assume he enforces the law selectively....that is my personal experience. Being stopped for something on my bike while the cars moving around me were not.

This is crazy. I live in NY and you can find a much better place that this for $700. No, you won't be next to Central Park, but seriously I would rather live in Queens and have a real bed.

I am a working pastor and have, basically, lost my faith. AMA and help? by girlpriestin IAmA

Hmm....I am a Unitarian Universalist minister and I'm not exactly sure what you mean by a religion without the religion. I don't believe in the God of the Bible, true. But religion comes from the Latin religare meaning "to bind" or "to tie" and we are definitely bound by a shared experience of faith in the common good and caring for the planet.

While I am technically an atheist in that I am certainly not a theist, I honestly find both positions somewhat boring and shallow. The universe is absolutely creative and there is a role for us to play. In addition to the Neil Degrasse Tyson that was suggested also check out Brian Swimme, also a physicist, and even Michael Dowd, who was once an evangelical Christian minister but now preaches the gospel of evolution. Swimme has a fantastic video series online called The New Story.
