It was definitely rushed - I was kind of glad at the time because I had decided to beat the game on my weekend, but the rushed-ness shows in the fact that it's so short compared to the other acts. Aren't "Acts" generally of roughly equal length?

Yeah, seriously, the game isn't THAT slow. Unless, of course, you don't gear properly. I was able to solo the whole (Normal) game without getting significantly stuck anywhere
