Ashenvale really was a beautiful zone. I miss the days when exploring the world itself was awe-inspiring, especially mixed with the in-game music. I used to get chills when running to Astranaar and keeping my eyes peeled for any Horde while admiring the environment.

During open beta, a high-level UD mage would come terrorize Darkshore. General chat would explode with activity any time there were signs of him in the zone, and huge mobs of lvl 10-15 night elves would unify to defend our lands, only to be one-shot by his aoe spells. He was like our own little world raid boss, presenting enough of a challenge that nearly an entire zone needed to work together to protect ourselves. We'd organize Crossroads raids in retaliation--the beta servers closed down for the final time while we were out there bombarding the town. It was this sense of community and effort that first drew me into the game.

That's rather inconsiderate of them if you're noticeably busy or there are frequent requests for small tasks that they can be easily completed themselves, like hanging a picture. Do they at least offer to help with heavy objects?

I think it's a gray area. I like to think that everyone is nice enough to offer assistance to others when required, and those who request help aren't out to take advantage of people. If it gets to the point that you feel it's over the top, is there a supervisor or someone you can speak with to address your concerns? Are your co-workers the type that can take a subtle hint from half-joking remarks? Maybe even laughingly stating that all that heavy lifting is giving you a bad back, or that you have so many things on your "honey-do" list on top of your actual job will give them a gentle reminder... although it really depends on their attitude whether or not they will take this well.

I've had my fair share of hilarious raid and pvp stories, but the most memorable funny moment I've had in WoW was during one of my last days before quitting during vanilla. A bunch of us glitched into Mt. Hyjal to explore the zone, a bannable offense at the time. We didn't know what we'd find in there, but we took our time exploring the empty landscape, following the road all the way down to Nordrassil and Archimonde's body. My friend started cracking up uncontrollably. The rest of us, confused as to what was so hilarious, rode over to where he sat. There, in the center of this massive zone, ridiculously juxtaposed a few yards from the spectacular World Tree, were three dinky little barricades designating the end of the dirt path. It was the last thing we expected to see in such a majestic environment.

There are some days I only listen to Kings of Convenience, I love them so. Their music can be so calming and delightful, it feels as if I'm relaxing in a sunlit room as they serenade me.

Their live performance during their June tour was absolutely amazing; the crowd was mesmerized and the entire room would sing along. To top off an already great night, Erland jumped into the crowd for a mini dance-off to during the encore!!!

The Suica/NEX pass is worth getting since the combo saves you some cash and the headache of figuring out how to get from the airport to the city. There might be a transfer to another line involved depending on the location of your hotel. Suica is great since you won't have to deal with figuring out your exact ticket fare each time you hop on the train; just touch it to the pad on the turnstile and it will automatically deduct your fare, telling you the remaining amount. Reloading the card with more money is quick and easy on the fare machines as well. Some station shops or vending machines also accept the card as payment.

There is a 2-day unlimited pass for the Tokyo Metro for ¥980 also available from Narita, a good way to save some money if you plan on using the subway often as well http://www.tokyometro.jp/global/en/ticket/narita.html. If you wish to get this, make sure to pick it up before leaving the airport. It does not activate until your first use, so maybe plan to use this during days you know you'll be taking the subway often.

Edit: I almost forgot to include that Suica can be used on Tokyo Metro lines as well.

Once in a long while, I get mild cramps a few days prior to my period starting, but most of them are pain-free. Then again, they tend to be irregular both in timing and flow, and last varying numbers of days (sometimes three, some longer than a week), which is a bit annoying considering there are times I have no idea when they'll start without a crampy warning. Even so, I think I still got the better end of the deal.

I'm glad you've stopped getting ill! That sounds terrible.

They want the best for you and care about you very much, but just don't know how to show it.

Focus on grades first and disregard the negativity about being "stupid", since that is really to your benefit in the end. They don't really mean it either, it's just the usual Asian way of avoiding praise. When you have good grades, get a job if you need cash so you don't have to ask them for spending money on top of tuition. Don't give them money but put it in savings. Take them and their old people-friends or family members out to dim sum or dinner so they can be proud of how filial their son is spending time with them (and maybe show off to other people too, they seem to like that). Hang in there and look forward to going back to school, graduating, getting a job, moving out and taking back control of your own life.

It's the Asian way. Positive encouragement and acknowledgment is seen as pampering, which just isn't done. It's along the lines of what you said regarding potential; it's almost as if they're scared you'll settle and stop striving for more once any bit of praise is given. However, I bet your MIL proudly announces your wife's accomplishments to her friends and other family members. There are also crazy double-standards as well, though, usually the case with several children and often a matter of their gender.

That's very interesting how this idea is technically the opposite in some East Asian cultures. Traditionally, first-born sons were supposed to bear the responsibility of caring for his parents (his wife then takes the lowest rank in her new household), while daughters are married out and no longer considered part of the family. Nowadays, I'm not so sure this is commonly observed anymore.

That reminds me of my grandma! We were visiting my cousin's apartment which she shared with her future-husband, long before their marriage. They had been dating for years already. My grandma peeked into their bedroom, turned to me and my mom and asked us why there was only one bed, did one of them sleep on the couch? We just kind of did that coughing sort of laugh.

I agree that healing is so much fun! I'd switched Holy dual spec from Shadow to level up in instances after 60, and it was quite refreshing. It sounds like you're having a blast and already doing a great job of keeping everyone alive in heroics. :)

You mention a rotation, but as holy, there isn't really a set rotation since healing is more based on what's required per fight. By no means would I consider myself an expert, but I've found it easiest and most mana-efficient to heal 5-mans using the following general guidelines:

PoM on the Tank pre-pull, Renew on Tank at all times while in combat to cover steady damage. Refresh PoM on the Tank mid-fight at your best judgment when off-cooldown, especially when it drops off the party, or the Tank needs help re-establishing aggro. If you know certain fights have large damage spikes, pre-cast Greater Heal on the tank and stop-cast if it's not necessary at the time. That way, you'll be quicker at getting the big heals off when required, but if not, then canceling won't waste the mana and reset your 5 second rule.
Speaking of the 5 second rule, it's best to cast in blocks if more intensive healing isn't required.
Greater Heal tends to be more mana efficient than Flash Heal in 5-mans if large heals are necessary (not really so later on in raids, but that's for another discussion). Use Flash Heal when Surge of Light procs, or if you need to quickly bring a party member or yourself back to manageable health before using Renew or Greater Heal.
If DPS pulls aggro, pop a shield on them and flash heal them up before a greater heal/renew while the Tank is reestablishing aggro. PoM the Tank if it's on cooldown to help him out. If the Tank is fast enough and there isn't major damage, a simple renew on the DPS should suffice.
If more than two party members require healing, use CoH or PoH, depending on how much is necessary. If you require more healing than a simple Renew, use Binding Heal on the Tank or Desperate Prayer, or heal yourself up as you would a DPS
If you know a particular fight will have a lot of AoE damage, pre-shield the party so the debuff will drop off earlier in case you'll need to reshield mid-fight. Casting Renew on particularly squishy team members or all might be helpful as well.

What's great about playing a healer is that all of the above are merely guidelines and there are so many exceptions to the rule. It's best to just be alert and quick on your toes in determining what heals are appropriate to keep the party alive while being mana efficient.

Aside from face-pulling, it's possible to pull aggro if you toss PoM on the tank after he pulls vs. properly dropping it on him pre-pull. Worst case scenario, the mob comes at the holy priest who freaks out and shields himself while spamming heals, or even accidentally PoM's himself, building up way too much aggro for the tank to pull them off.

However, unless the tank really wasn't paying attention or didn't have enough rage/taunt on cooldown/etc., it's unlikely they wouldn't be able to recover from the very beginning.

One of my friends got his account restored from a hacker who'd managed to raise his alt's profession skills to 450 and purchase epic flying, on top of gearing him up. It was a pretty sweet deal, turning out much better than expected.
