It's easy to forget that life is an amazing coincidence; cold gas and rocks formed over billions of years into warm stars and habitable planets. Matter itself has progressed into thinking entities aware of their surrounds. A series of amazing accidents!

The battle between preservation of self & one's own and the good of the species is a long and enduring one; injustices have always plagued humanity but eventually they are exposed and compensated.

We do live in dark times, but nowhere near as dark as some of humanity's past. Things are getting better slowly, quality of life is improving while excess is the biggest problem in the western world. Never before has excess been a disease, we are still learning how to cope.

Try to see the beauty in humanity's creations and to understand the causes of injustice & exploitation. Greed, fear and control for the sake of control are powerful forces but eventually compassion & freedom will inevitably rule. There will come a time where resources are irrelevant, technology foretold by the great writers of the world will help bring about a time where sunlight is converted into any required materials to be used by robots that support a slaveless society of art, sex, and recreation.

Hold on brothers and sisters, humanity is on the cusp of some beautiful changes, themselves bringing a different type of fear & uncertainty which will take time to adapt to. Our ancestors have been through much worse, and it will get much better.
