but you are flinging your bullshit all over the place.

the fine crap that you are peddling sir, is stinking pretty bad too.

Your average american kid gets chucked out of the house at 18, and works piece-meal jobs to get a college degree with a huge education loan. Try getting an average Indian teen to do that.

A whole lot of Indian kids went overseas and worked two jobs while studying for a degree too. And I see a lot more teens working part time jobs these days. Maybe you got a lot of pocket money. That does not mean all of them do.

Not being able to listen to your penis is the least of problems in one's life.

It depends on what one's life is. The higher you are the farther you can see. Penis is an important part of life too. Why is it so fricking hard to understand?

Focus on getting an education before circle-jerking with wanna-be-westerners on american websites.

You don't even know what an education actually means. A piece of paper from an institution is not what education is about. Circle-Jerking with wanna be westerners on whatever websites is a useful life skill too. Soft skills are increasingly important part of work and, these are good opportunities for improving them.

What matters is to focus on what someone wants in life. Using ones organ harmoniously for social pleasure is something that young adventurous people want. Obviously your narrow minded brain cannot fathom such perspectives. We can guess that somewhere in your formative years this part of growing up was abruptly smothered for "problems in one's life" ...

Want me to tell you the state of education amongst your generation?

No thanks. We can see for ourselves how well the Indian youth are doing. And because of people like you many more of our youth will win more Nobels, but will claim them for other countries/cultures.

But no, we are progressive if we solve sex attitudes before we bloody fix our education. Let us be fucking rebels, because this nation lacks them so much.

And why should it be sex or education and not both? More narrow mindedness ... You sir are very predictable now ... Being rebellious for the right things is what Indian culture is all about. We cherish the right. "Satyameva Jayate". Heard that one?

Amazing Timelapse of 30-Story Building Constructed In Only 360 Hours by Fashishin technology

[–]writetoalok 10 points11 points ago

But in a conventional building, many parts are prefabricated as well, probably not to this degree. For example, no builder fires bricks, cooks cement or smelts steel on site.

This is taking it to another level. That is a sign of sophistication not shortcut. So it was built in 360 hours using modern assembly.

I just bought a flat screen tv. But here is my wish list for an iTv if I could be convinced to buy it in 5 years time

  • comes with iOs out of the box, with tweaks for large screen
  • interfaces with my other iOs devices as remotes
  • comes with time shifting (dvr)
  • comes with excellent browse & search interface for content across channels and time
  • super fast ai voice interface would be great (Siri, what science docs are showing today evening)
  • remembers my preferences, and obviously everyone else's in the family
  • shows what I missed and watched religiously (and please don't confuse me as someone who watches Pokemon)
  • update streams onscreen (twitter notes, cricket scores, stock prices etc
  • show my content wirelessly from lan & the Internet too
  • sells in three ranges 800, 1000 & 1300 price points What else?

If it increases the owners tax bill by such a large amount then it hardly seems like any encouragement at all. So unless it is mandatory it appears that noone would like to be treated as such a company. Or am I missing something?

What the heck is "a Subchapter S corporation" and why is it "exempt from corporate income taxes"? And how does it increase Buffets tax bill by 23100% ?

Most people in India do not beleieve in flaunting their wealth. Things are changing though with Westernization.

Gold is considered a prudent investment lasting for many generations in India. And if the fiat currencies rate if inflation is anything to go by, this seems very obvious.

everyone has an equal ability to get a patent - the only limit is how good your idea is and how much money you have to pursue it.

the problem with patents is not the intention of rewarding for innovation, its that the system is broken and there is little incentives for the big corporations and their benefactors to mend it. Just take a look at the useless junk which has been patented. One click patent, seriously how did it ever get approved?

Free education is unsuccesful DESPITE the vast amount of money being thrown at it. ... Blame it on people who don't care. Parents, students, administrations and voters.

blame everything else apart from the idea that "free" education is good. why is it good?

Free healthcare would only benefit the poor, ... I don't see your point with that one.

The point is that middle class people end up footing the bill but do not get much benefit in return. This helps the super rich, as it maximize the availability of quality manpower, without much expense.

War racket? ... Without our leadership, I doubt the world would enjoy nearly half the level of prosperity it does now.

Over trillions of dollars were spent in the major wars in the previous decade, all paid for by tax dollars, affecting mostly middle class Americans. Who benefitted from these wars ... corporations with their big ticket contracts, companies like Exxon, Blackwater etc.

Regulated stock markets? I don't see the point - is it better to have no rules?

I am not an expert in this area, but stock markets are highly skewed to protect the interests of investors. I think employees, founders and other insiders deserve more for their time and efforts too.

I don't mean to come as being harsh, but I think most of those views are a bit naive and don't espouse the practicality necessary to function in the modern world.

I am a naive student of economics, yet. However repeating "modern world" like a mantra, honestly, does not clearly reason out the principles and facts of economic reality. And I really would like to learn more of those.

Yes, this makes sense.

Now what about the flip side of the concentration of wealth. The highly skewed distribution of wealth. The 1% economy. It appears to me that most of modern society is aligned to highly skew the odds in the favor of the haves. Here are a few things that come to mind:

  • regulated stock markets, makes the haves unfairly on par with everyone else. Why should a common stock holder be on par with a founder or employee stock holder.

  • unnecessary regulation, makes the deep pockets easier to game the system

  • patents, mostly helps the big companies to shoot down small time firms with their frivolous patent portfolio and mountains of paperwork (the newspapers popularize the other side of the story, but come on how many Microsofts have died due to patent litigation?)

  • free education, helps the bottom rung, gives the 1% more and cheaper resources, but leaves the middle class with a lot of tax burden

  • free health care, ditto.

  • war racket, these mostly offer free lunch to the big corporations at the expense of small tax payers. Why does US need 100+ bases around the world and two major wars, in "peace' time

So heres the question doc: whatever happened to laissez faire capitalism? The current crony capitalist society is aligned and geared to help the crony buddies at the expense of you me and the rest of the 99%.

Yes, I understand that aspect of Capitalsim. But the question was about the economic consequence of concentration of wealth. "The rich grow richer", simply because of interest rates, and the have nots eat dirt.
