TROPHY CASE

How do you hire your IT professionals? by trouphazin sysadmin

[–]williamshatnersvoice 1 point2 points ago

I hate to say this, but I weed out the majority based on their resumes alone. Resumes that are poorly written or have many grammatical errors never make the cut. During the interview process it is important to understand that the candidates are nervous. Don't be too harsh. If you can get them to relax enough during the interview process you might get an idea of their nature and what they might be like to work with. I try to have a conversation and see if they would fit in to our workplace culture and see if I smell any B.S. regarding their skill set they have outlined on their resume. Always follow up with references. If you cannot get a hold of references, or they simply will not return calls or emails that should be a red flag.

When all else fails, gather the candidates that have made it this far and have them fight to the death ;-)

Grown-ups of Reddit, Do you truly feel like a grown-up? by Trlckeryin AskReddit

[–]williamshatnersvoice 1 point2 points ago

No. I still view some subjects with the enthusiasm of youth. When making the "hard" decisions I still feel like a kid who would very much like to hold the hand of a grown-up during the process. I get on the floor and play with my kids. I re-live the wonder of discovery every time I see it their eyes. When I think back to my youth, "grown-ups" were people that took things too seriously, got lost in minutia, involved themselves in other's affairs uninvited and were without a sense of humour.

OpenText has other products too, such as eDOCS. I have used OpenText products and users love them. You could even keep the SharePoint front end and bridge the two with a webpart called SeeUnity. (don't work for either, just use their products 'cause they work well.)

• Environmental regulation should be stricter, even if it means consumers pay higher prices.

I like this way of thinking. Consumer demand is a great way to initiate change that the corporations will want to lead.

My first "real" case. Questions about cloud storage. by 1369311007in computerforensics

[–]williamshatnersvoice 1 point2 points ago

Subpoena records from their ISP and see if there is any activity to IPs registered with some of the well known cloud services. It may satisfy your hunch about these services being used. If TOR or chained proxies were used you won't be able to determine if these services were used.
