Agreed. If anything it will help move toward a more dynamic setup in bot lane. You know there's a problem when there's almost 0 variance in bot lane composition in every ranked match you play. Supports like Sona and Soraka are just not any fun to play against, just like soloing against a Nidalee or Vladimir is like banging your head against a wall unless you've specifically counter-picked to deal with that lane.

"Elo Hell" players are generally there because they belong there. The OP has demonstrated a strategy that these low elo players can exploit to dig themselves up a few brackets higher. Do they become a better player from this? I doubt it. Do they learn how to work with their team? Not in the least. It's true that you typically have to carry your way out of low Elo or you're going to be stuck there, so I can give credit to this strategy for doing that. However, my argument is that while playing in this style may boost your elo, you don't actually get better at the game. If anything, it teaches you to ignore your team and play selfishly.

Right, I should have clarified. I meant that it would place her passive on the targets for someone else on your team to activate.

Ignite, Merc Treads, and wards. If you see him rushing Sorc Shoes then he's trying to max out his early/mid-game damage. Counter that by playing defensively and spotting ganks in advance.

My point was that 900 players shouldn't be cheesing their way up to higher Elo when they don't actually belong there. For what it's worth I'm at 1450 Elo and don't want to be playing with 900 Elo players who don't know how to interact with a team because they climbed the ladder using a strategy that is opposite to how the game is played when you get above 1200.

So if a 900 Elo player can cheese his way up to 1400, does that make him a better player? What happens when the 1400 bracket becomes saturated with people who are only decent as Jungle Yi?

I still enjoyed Tiberian Sun and consider it a good game. But it didn't live up to its hype.

Keep in mind that Tiberian Sun was the third C&C game, following Red Alert and the original C&C, two games that were considered the standards for RTS games of the mid 90s (alongside Starcraft).

I'd have to find some of the original press releases to give you a scope of the hype that game was getting. It was constantly being pushed back to supposedly get more awesome features in, yet when it was released it only had a fraction of the intended features, was buggy as all hell, had some very broken gameplay mechanics (I believe the nod artillery had some kind of ridiculous range and heat seeking shells.

Taken from its wikipedia page:

A "loadout" screen was to be implemented allowing commanders to pick units to take into battle before missions. The "loadout" screen was finished in a prototype game codenamed Command & Conquer: Incursion (the planned sequel to Tiberian Sun), but Westwood was dissolved and Electronic Arts did not revive the concept.[9] Drop pods were intended to be customizable for GDI before deployment. Lighting was intended to make a huge difference for day/night play, as units spotted by light posts/towers would be susceptible to enemy fire at greater ranges, and in turn would suffer a reduction in their own range ability. Westwood planned the Hunter / Seeker Droid option to support selection of target types, but ultimately the droid was made to attack at random. Developers also didn't have enough time to finalize balanced differences in terrain types, or to make The Forgotten a full faction for the expansion, as it was initially intended.

What's that? A third playable race, a day-night sequence that made a difference, Unparalleled strategic planning? Oh man, fucking awesome! It's too bad Westwood raced it out the doors after one too many delays.

But damn, thinking about those hovertanks makes me want to play it again...

C&C Tiberian Sun was a huge let down for me. After following the hype and list of features for 2-3 years, finally playing it felt similar to finding out that Santa wasn't real.

The thing is, Melee is an incredibly technical game at its core. For people who think of Smash Bros Melee as a game like Mario Party to be played for the lulz, items are going to make it more fun. If you want to advance to any level of competitive play, you have to eliminate items to be able to appreciate Melee as a highly technical fighting game.

I once took Ambien and then went to play World of Warcraft. After it kicked in it felt like my character was an extension of my hands/fingers touching the keyboard. It was such a surreal experience like I was really inside the game casting heals and doing little flips when I jumped.
