I made a website to stream music from your home computer to another browser.
It also streams music from YouTube at the same time. http://jukefly.com

Two sides of a bell curve, that's an interesting way of thinking about that.
I'm in the right side of the curve I guess. I'm an experienced dev and I think macs are fantastic for so many reasons.
I don't recommend them to my laymen friends (heh), when they're gamers.
I also don't recommend them to people like my dad, he's near the top of the bell curve. Smart enough to want to deal with the components of the pc, he loves building them etc. So macs are very boring to him.

Make sure you let the next girl know before she gets herself another stalker.
Joking aside, it's funny how we see other people acting this way, and we just think they are "insane", but when it happens to you it's "different" -- although you have one leg up as you at least realize now that you were "Completely nuts".
It's amazing to me that the concept of not being with someone after being with them for a while is so emotionally painful to us, as to make us say and do things we would normally never consider was even in our personality.

That's interesting, I thought Chrome passed the Acid3 test 100%, which I would think should somehow take this into consideration...

Yeah, but I don't think when you load an .exe from disk, that there is a memcpy operation happening.
I could be so very wrong, but I would like to think that both Windows and Linux kernels DMA the file directly to the page where it will be executed from...
So it's more like N cpu operations compared to 0 cpu operations aside from the DMA setup itself...
Eh?

Or...
I just installed 3.5.7 literally, on a dozen computers literally, just 2 literal hours ago ¬_¬, figuratively speaking of course.
Not really true.
I've read numerous articles about it, and the real issue is that the difference in time to read 10 megs vs 20 megs yes can vary based on the request sizes and fragmentation, but we're talking that most 7200 rpm HD's can load this file in less than 1 second into ram.
The whole file. 20 megs, 1 second or much less. Many 7200 rpm drives can read up to 50 megabyte/s sequentially! (Thats per second).
The other aspect is that operations to the disk are asynchronous, that is, they don't take much CPU at all. However, decompressing a 14 megabyte file takes tons of CPU. The only argument against this now in my mind is that we have dual and quad core CPU's, so it doesn't make a huge deal.
Also, just to nit-pick, ram isn't 1,000 times faster, it is much faster than even that compared to disk access! I'm not sure by how much, but 1,000 is a very low estimate.
What's the dumbest thing you've ever heard someone say? by kilgoretrout81in AskReddit
Yeah, I agree. I also realize though that pretty much everyone here isn't "normal" by the standards of averages.
The "average" person really has no clue, nor any desire to understand how any of the technology works around them.
Roughly as Joe Rogan put it, "For all we know, there are little monkeys in the VCR that run around painting pictures to make the image magically appear"... or something like that.

The Big Bang Theory minus audience laughter. by rickyisawesomein videos
They probably use the same samples over and over. So you could develop and algorithm that compares the audio tracks of the shows and finds the laughter, then separates them out into more "pure" laugh tracks that they can then use to inversely remove the laughing from future shows.
I'm sure it's insanely complex, and when you're done, it's probably not near perfect, and might even destroy a bunch of audio along the way.
Plus the bigger problem, when they record shows knowing there will be fake laughing, they mess up the tempo of the jokes etc.

You're right, "on one level" ;-).... It's very complex. Basically, Money is different things to everyone.
The most basic thing it starts off as for just about everyone, is "purchasing power", but once you have a certain amount, it quickly morphs into many different things and becomes personal to that person on how they view it...
