See, there's using logic and there's nitpicking over word choice, and the latter is what I'm calling bullshit on. I don't feel like going over the entire thread to pull specific examples, because honestly I'm thisclose to blocking Reddit for a week or so as this particular relationship is starting to get unhealthy.

Fucking around on the internet like this is taking up way too much of my time and attention, and that is a Bad Thing. So you'll forgive me if I bow out of this one. Take your internet victory points or whatever, and I'm going to have a long talk with my therapist about taking a goddamn arguing on the internet site way too seriously.

Well, if we're playing "spot the logical fallacy," explain how your claim that reddit is somehow superior to SA because it has a larger user base is anything but an appeal to popularity? "It is bigger, so it must be better!"

I could just as readily claim that SA has a higher level of discourse because it's smaller. The $10 registration ensures that only people who are genuinely interested in participating bother to show up, and that moderation holds the users to a higher overall standard of post quality. As such, SRS is beneficial to reddit as a whole by exposing hypocritical shitposters and pushing them out. Rising tide, etc.
