The reasonable man is what a reasonable person would do if he or she found him or herself in the circumstances of the facts of the case. Here, the game show is obviously set up for lies and deceit, not binding contractual negotiations. It would be a pretty pointless show if you could just legally bind the other person to the promises he or she makes during the show. The host repeatedly alludes to this during the back and forth between the contestants, saying that there is only one real way to guarantee that they both win. The show is akin to having negotiations where both parties have giant signs behind their backs that read "EVERYTHING I SAY COULD BE A LIE." No jury would find an enforceable contract based on promises made in such a situation.

if it's reasonable to think the other person could be lying, then it's unreasonable to think a contract has been entered into. the mere setting and premise of the show calls into question anything that is said during the show.

The reasonable person aspect is where you lose in court. The premise of the game show is deceit. It would be unreasonable to think that you're entering into an enforceable contract. Also, you can't sue on equitable estoppel, it's traditionally a defense only.

Yes! Assuming you're a "low-income" individual, there is free VITA tax preparation at the Stevick Senior Citizen Center (google it for address and telephone #) on a daily basis. Make sure to bring all the forms you got from whatever income sources you had, and to get there early as there's probably going to be a wait this close to tax day. They will completely fill out your federal and state tax returns and file it for you. As long as what you've got going on isn't too complicated, they will do an adequate job.

seriously, i never watched petrovic play, didn't even know about him until a few years ago when I read about his tragic story. It's great that the NBA/TNT put him in this video alongside all those other greats, a really deserving tribute to a player most of us unfortunately never got to know.
