When I was a highschool freshman, I had a history teacher that didn't like me. She wasn't particularly mean, she just called on me frequently and asked me to stay after class and discuss the things i needed to do. Looking back, I realize that she only meant to help me, but at that time i despised her. I used to try and get back at her by doing things like calling her by her first name (which she told me not to do) until she wrote me up. One day we had a substitute, and I hadn't really been plotting anything until I saw her leave to use the bathroom near the end of class. The teacher's edition history book with all of the solutions was sitting on the podium up front, and I decided I was going to take it. I casually walked up, plucked it off the podium, and placed it in my bag and left. The next day, one of my friends asked me about it and told me he would purchase it off of me. I was unsure if I would sell it, thinking i might return it at some point to avoid trouble. Throughout that day, several students asked me about the book and I ended up with an auction-type selling arrangement in which I would give the book to the highest bidder by the end of the day. Well that never happened. Apparently this history teacher had asked another class if they knew anything about the book and if a student could provide a name she would give them an A in the class. Of course, i was called to the principal's office later that day and my locker was searched. The book was found and returned; I was suspended. Worst part was that the auction had gotten up to $75. That's a lot of money to a highschooler.
