Yep! Would love the reddit to gain more traction. We need more local content, I think.

Free entry to the Team Mutomo 5k on March 31st by twincitiesrunnerin twincitiessocial

They are calling it a 'Fun Run/Walk' - is that more appealing? I just use the would 'race' for any organized running event.

Here is a PDF with a little more info about the event if you are interested.

Know any good spots to do hill running in the Twin Cities? by twincitiesrunnerin TCSrunners

[–]twincitiesrunner[S] 0 points1 point ago

I'll have to check that out. I ran the East River Parkway the other day but there weren't many hills... although I was quite a bit south of 35. I was thinking that turning onto summit would provide some good hill training.

Any of you run Ragnar last weekend? by twincitiesrunnerin TCSrunners

[–]twincitiesrunner[S] 1 point2 points ago

Wow - that's random.

Last year was my first year doing it and I had so much fun. Definitely doing it again this year.

Welcome to this sub-reddit, by the way.

So far I've signed up for the Get Lucky half marathon and Grandma's marathon. I'll probably do Ragnar again this summer as I had a blast with it last year.

Thinking of running a 6 hour ultra two weeks after a marathon. Help me out! by serge_mamianin running

I don't have much in the way of advice but have got to say that running a 2.5K loop for 6 hours sounds dreadful.

Also, have your longest training runs been around the 3 hour mark? Seems like being under-trained and still recovering from a marathon might be a set up for injury.

I did it last year. Really pretty route. Killer hill towards the end. I got a high-five from Al Frankin at mile 24 which was awesome. Good luck!
