it's not because they're out of ideas. it's because people aren't spending money at the theater like they used to, so they are going for sure things. sequel performance is a lot easier to predict.

synaptics-dkms should do the trick. i'm running this on my cr-48.

first add the repository: sudo add-apt-repository ppa:ppa:utouch-team/utouch then install the synaptics dkms package in package manager. You should be all set.

It's all about what you want. Blackberry is good for people who just want to check their email, have a notifications system that is nice and out of the way, and maybe want a good physical keyboard. BB is the communication phone. Want apps? Android and iphone. To me the biggest difference is the iphone is more locked down, but some people like this sort of thing. Also can be easier to deal with. To me both are for people who want to play with their phone - apple for people who want to play games and download apps only, android for people who want greater freedom with their phone, what it can do, and maybe want to mess with it a bit. personally i'd go with android over iphone cause the iphone notifications system is total crap.

i have had several blackberries. i like them, but am starting to really want an android phone. but my wife recently went from an iphone 3g to a torch and loves the torch - it does what she needs and stays out of her way the rest of the time.

The duct tape thing is stupid. It was funny in high school. Duct tape, saying 42 as the answer to questions, and monty python quotes are no longer funny or clever. They're the geek equivalent of low brow humor.

I have comcast voice and internet, and when i hooked up my new hd unit a few weeks ago i plugged it into the cable just for the hell of it. Imagine my surprise when I discovered that comcast broadcasts the local broadcast channels for free - so I got to watch the bowl anyway.

I just picked up the Samsung PN50C550 - the 50" version. $850 at best buy. I love it. Looks fantastic. It was down to this or 46" LED LCD LG, which was $1000. I went with the plasma for the quality of movement and the fact that I could throw in a blu ray that does netflix and vudu for another 100 bucks and still spend less than the LG. (the lg had those things built in, but you'd still need something to play blu ray discs.)

Lots of inputs on the samsung, too.

edit: forgot to mention the 550 is a 1080p unit. IMO the 720p plasmas look like butt.

You don't need to buy a new OS. You just need the 64 bit disc of whatever version you have now. Just make sure you get OEM if you are using an OEM install (IE came with the laptop.) Like if you're using home premium OEM get a 64-bit home premium oem DVD, use the code from the bottom of the laptop, and you're good. You should be able to download the DVD online or borrow someone's copy. your key covers both versions.
