TROPHY CASE

Operation Black March by MarchLooksBlackin technology

[–]tolley 0 points1 point ago*

There are a lot of uninformed people out there. We, as the informed party, have a responsibility to try to spread this message.

I know a lot of people are saying "but it'll hurt the little guy" You're right, but that's how it works today. These big companies put smaller companies between them and the public. This is really the only way to get to them, to let them know we aren't gonna take this anymore. This is our front line.

Some people are saying that, yea, they'll have a bad March, but then there will be a spike in April, so it won't matter. That's not the point. The point is to remind the industry that we as a collective have the power here. They'll have a bad quarter and they'll notice that.

Guys, we need to have a talk. by steph-was-herein glee

Any areas in the city that you have noticed with exceptionally high concentrations of homeless people? by lrlrlrlrin washingtondc

Yea, I'm starting to agree with you that handing items out personally wouldn't be a good idea. It may not be the safest thing to do.

Are there any laws that anyone knows of that prohibits giving stuff to the homeless (assuming said stuff is legal). I got a bunch of those hand warmers, some emergency blankets, and several of those giant moist naps and I wanted to give them out.

They almost did it once. I forget exactly which episode it was, but at the end, while the credits where rolling, you see Troy and Abed doing a crossword puzzle while Jeff studied behind them at the table. All the answers where Community characters until Winger said "Beau Bridges" (it was a misdirect)

The copyright laws in the US need reforming. Copyrights used to expire after about 14 years. This gave the copyright holder time to make money off their work. After it expired, the works would become public domain and anyone was able to use the IP for whatever they wanted.

Today, copyrights almost never expire, and when they do, they can be renewed. This isn't how our copyright system is supposed to work.

Ringing cellphone brings New York Philharmonic concert to a halt. Should theaters do more to enforce cellphone bans? by lornepikein technology

[–]tolley 1 point2 points ago

I've never understood people that leave their cellphone on during a movie or concert. I always put mine on silent. Not because I don't want to disturb the people around me, but because I'm paying money to see the movie/concert and I don't want to be disturbed.

I frequently imagine the people that do that as being gym members. They pay a monthly fee to go exercise, yet when life provides with an opportunity to exercise for free, they can't be bothered.

Best PHP Framework To Get Me Started? by Subthehoboin PHP

CodeIgniter is great. I also like Kohana. If you aren't used to MVC I'd recommend writing a simple MVC framework yourself. You would of course be reinventing the wheel, but it's good experience and it will help you learn.
