Deadmau5 vs DJ PaulyD - Who Knew Guido's Could Troll? by masterhanin electronicmusic

[–]the_shape -13 points-12 points ago

I didn't say he was America. I said he was one of the most well know EDM artists in America.

The dude is/was a real life nerd, he used to post on the Somethingawful.com forums back in the early 2000s and would put samples up there sometimes.

I agree with what you've said, but give him some slack. Just think if you were to blow up to be some kid behind a computer playing video games to one of most well known American EDM artist overnight.

How to crush a damn good crowd. by fos4545in sports

I've seen a lot of amazing moments in sports in my life, but that is one I saw live that'll never forget.

No matter what you say about Fish, he was always clutch in the playoffs and a genuinely amazing guy in real life.

Nah, only if you don't pay the collection agency by the required date.

Hollywood Video made no attempt to contact me before this.

No, they went out of business years ago. It's only now that I'm getting collection notices for movies I never returned.

Just a heads up, when they do go under like Hollywood Video you'll get collection notices for those fees 3 - 4 years later.

I just got 2 ($10 and $14 fees) from movies I rented in 2006 and 2009.

I frequently go to Blockbuster a block away from my apartment, I have their $8.99 monthly deal which happens to be the last one in the bay area, so I like to think I'm keeping them in business.

Ridiculously photogenic... Asian guy? by vanillaprinterin funny

[–]the_shape 0 points1 point ago

....what?

I drank the entire route, then stopped at the entrance to the park and partied the next few hours without issues.

Near the park there was at least 1 person passed out in the street on every block.

I paid $100 to used Uber cab to get to and from b2b. Felt pretty awesome to have a car come pick me up while 50 other drunk kids were trying to flag down every cab that came by.

Another fan beat up leaving Dodgers Stadium by bravo_deltain baseball

[–]the_shape 4 points5 points ago

What you (and everyone else who judges Dodger fans on a few bad apples) don't understanding is LA consists of 10 million people, and the stadium is located right next to East LA which is known for it's low income neighborhoods which breed these type of thugs. That's what they are thugs, not fans.

Granted NY is the only other city that can maybe compete with the size of LA, but the reason you don't hear about these things at Kauffman stadium or at Chase field is because the demographics at those places are completely different. Fights are not special to just Dodger stadium, but we get the worst rap for it and then are all judged as fans. It's rather frustrating.

First time going to the ballpark. Advice? by SeniorLongDongin baseball

[–]the_shape 0 points1 point ago

It's tough for me to say this, but since I live next to the park and have been there for many (Dodger) games I would higher recommend checking out AT&T.

Having been to most MLB stadiums in my life, currently I have to say the most beautiful parks are AT&T, PNC, Safeco in that order.

Regardless, congratulations you'll have a great time!

I was lucky enough to make it to an Expos game before the end.

Still wear these to show my support: http://i.imgur.com/J2MjG.jpg

It's amazing how many random people comment on me wearing either one of those hats. I've had so many conversations about baseball with people just walking past me than I can count. Usually the question is "why are you wearing an Expos hat?" or "woah I haven't seen that logo in years!"

Every once in awhile someone asks me why I'm wearing a Mets hat..

About two years ago I was working on the west side of LA and took my girlfriend at the time out to lunch at a mediocre diner. Sat down and realized Charlie and Hurley (sorry I just known their names from Lost) were sitting next to us. Didn't bug them for a pic but they seemed nice enough.. It was also funny to see the smallest/shortest guy from Lost hanging out with the largest.

The best part about dating a Giants fan? Betting on the series. by Maczin Dodgers

[–]the_shape 0 points1 point ago

I'm a southern CA transplant living by AT&T park and seeing a Giants fan. Due to my deep hate of the Giants we end up with similar bets on most Giant series. The stakes get much higher than the OPs when they are playing the Dodgers though..

In Rocko it's more of the innuendo dialog, I'll have to ask him for specific examples. He currently animates for them so those that were involved in this are long gone.. He does know all Disney ones though. Those are latent once they are pointed out to you, kind of amazing.

Literally watch any of Rockos Modern Life episodes as an adult.

[–]the_shape 1 point2 points ago

I've said this a few other times, but my friend is an animator for Nickelodeon and back in the 90s (even today, but to a lesser extent) there was a huge running joke between each of the animators/writers from different shows like Doug, Rockos Modern Life, Hey Arnold, etc to see who could get the most offensive or subtle innuendoes on air.

Pretty sure the Rocko crew won.

You know that not everyone in SF is a ultra left wing and politically correct? It's an amazing city, but not some magical land where everyone believes the same thing and gets along.
