I don't see any fault in my method. I always have gotten a positive experience out of it. I have tried fucked up things to see what happens because I find human nature to be very different from what we think it would be. Example:

I asked a ridiculous amount of blond girls what their natural hair color was. Many were with their boyfriends. They were proud and said things like: "Me and my sister got our hair colored together. I used to be a red head and wanted a change. Do you like it?" "Oh haha it used to be brown." I thought I would get my ass beat. I didn't and got a great fun conversation.

I don't see a problem with asking. I bet the guy last night at the bar wishes he would have asked quickly. A guy came and sat with me, my fiance, and my other guy friend. He introduced himself and tried befriending us before talking to her and even ignored her question while he talked to me and my guy friend. I could see what was going on from his approach and thought it funny to distance myself from appearing to be with my fiance. He was so baffled and seemed very confused. Eventually he figured out she was with me because she seemed very intent on listening to me when I spoke. She is great. So he finally asks if we are a couple. After he found out he shortly after jetisoned saying he was going to go talk to a girl he was trying to bang. It was hilarious. My girl didn't even know that was the plan he had but me and my guy friend could see it from the start. Good times.
