TROPHY CASE

Update on no_numbers_here by meagarin bicycling

[–]tenninjakittens 1 point2 points ago

Totally disagree. In my experience Giro helmets fit rounder heads, and Bells fit slightly longer ones. Must just be different models.

I have a longish head and the best fit for me was the Lazer Sphere.

What's a vego?

Apple to Give Up Google Maps in iOS 6.0, Go With Own Solution by readersevenin gadgets

This is actually good news for Google Maps fans; now Google will be able to submit and update a new app to add features that Android has had forever - like bicycling directions.

This guy owes us BIG TIME. by lmrojasin bicycling

Depends on how bad you hurt yourself... I'd hurt myself a little if it meant I could ride 330 miles "in a day" ("without sleeping" would satisfy that well enough for me)

Long lasting, thin with capacity man's wallet by Syllogism19in BuyItForLife

Nope, right. Maybe it's because I keep my wallet in the left front pocket? Right front is for the phone.

Ever hear of public infrastructure? Oh, no, I forgot, everyone thinks highways and sewers are free.

Yeah, I noticed this the other day. Probably can't spend any more money there as a result.

Can Tomato explain Latino Pasta? I can not.

This explains what all those hundreds of bikers were about downtown yesterday. I'm not against bicyclists, but from what I saw on the bus, they were dangerously weaving in and out of different lanes and a few even ran red lights. by _neuntein Austin

[–]tenninjakittens 3 points4 points ago

They're not cyclists, they're people. Same rules apply as anywhere else: some are jerks, some are not. This is not "us vs. them" so please stop trying to make it so.

I use my back pockets for paper-type objects. Left is for things I want to keep like cash and notes, and right is for disposable things like useless receipts or a spare napkin.

Adjusting Tektro Oryx brakes by bike_problemsin bikewrench

[–]tenninjakittens 0 points1 point ago

This has little to do with your question, but I know a few people who have had issues with very noisy Oryx brakes. No amount of adjusting would fix it, but replacing the brakes with CR720s did the trick. So if you ever have that problem... there's your solution.

Newbie question. I have a ton of free time soon and been thinking of studying to be a bike tech. Techs: does it suck? by LV426orBUSTin bikewrench

Similar situation for me. Miss the money sometimes, but absolutely worth it.

Gday Wredditors, I'm trying to convert my dads old no suspension 8 speed mountain bike to a single speed with road wheels to use for bike polo. I've got a few questions and need some advice. by lynchyeatspizzain bikewrench

[–]tenninjakittens 0 points1 point ago

It's actually not that difficult. People build wheels at my local co-op (Austin Yellow Bike Project) for the first time under Coordinator guidance on a regular basis.
