TROPHY CASE

Jatt did a better job of "controlling" SOTL tonight, then Travis. by Sirkipin leagueoflegends

[–]tbydal 8 points9 points ago

This is precisely it. The guests on SotG are as a rule more adult, considerate and well thought out.

But really, the underlying reason is probably that the Starcraft scene is so much more developed, with most of the participants being 10-year veterans of the community.

The greatest atheist heroine by Ziggystarfieldin atheism

[–]tbydal 11 points12 points ago

Main reason is that it was enormously expensive, and already the second of its kind since the first one exploded.

When they tried it it broke in the attempt and nothing seemed to happen - with Ellie being the only one to realize something had happened but appearing crazy when she tries to convince everyone else.

Olaf matchups by Lostidentity627in leagueoflegends

[–]tbydal 0 points1 point ago

Actually I would say it does do a lot of damage per application. Not many champs can trade favorably - You mention Renekton and from my own limited experience he's an exception, Renekton's early burst and CC is his main strength. And as a result he pretty much counters Olaf.

The other obvious answer is to out sustain with W while harassing with E. Not many champs can boast both sustain and burst.

Champion Spotlight for the revamped Jax. by Hobojessein leagueoflegends

He was already pretty much immune to AD carry. I don't see how it makes up for loss of tankiness.

You'd think so, but no. Same as Triforce and Sheen, physical.

"Veigar is getting playability changes..." by Taehoongerin leagueoflegends

[–]tbydal 0 points1 point ago

That is quite an understatement; more than double the time is huge.

Larger as in area.

I would love to see what support Viegar looks like (but if you're worried about being flamed...)

Tried it! Very difficult to pull off, maybe with an extremely agressive AD.

"Veigar is getting playability changes..." by Taehoongerin leagueoflegends

[–]tbydal 4 points5 points ago

Veigar's W is 1.2s and Brand's is 0.5s. So no. Veigar's is a bit larger though, but it still feels much harder to land with no stun.

If they remove dodge, I hope they make Ninja Tabi equivalent to Mercury Treads. by classy_motherfuckerin leagueoflegends

[–]tbydal 2 points3 points ago

Actually, no. It's a 12% reduction no matter what your current dodge stat is because of how dodge stacks.

TSM vs Ehome Playing right now by dwarcakein leagueoflegends

I assume they are playing on NA server? Anyone have an idea of what kind of latency Ehome will have?

Nothing to do with what he wants or not. UFC wants one marketable Mexican star, so they can expand into Mexico.

Why sticking to the meta is so important by Astan92in leagueoflegends

[–]tbydal 6 points7 points ago

Thing is, people who try to "invent" a new meta game in solo queue are usually terrible at it. So while some people may be able to pull it off, most people want you to play standard as they have no idea if you are that one in a hundred that has legitimately come up with a new strat.

Brolaf is getting buffed! by Markhaimin leagueoflegends

[–]tbydal 1 point2 points ago*

Actually smite does not work with spell vamp since they changed it to true damage.

But i agree the wriggle procs change hit him the hardest. Had to stop jungling him after that.

edit: Actually you are right. For some reason i was sure it was changed but just tested. That's great. Might have to run olaf again ^

Brolaf is getting buffed! by Markhaimin leagueoflegends

[–]tbydal 4 points5 points ago

Disagree. He has been indirectly nerfed by a lot of stuff since the time he was considered viable. For instance, spell vamp used to work on smite, and wriggles used to be a lot better.

He also has huge disadvantages in a meta where counterjungling is prevalent, as he will pretty much just straight out die if you catch him.

That said, they better be careful. He carries hard.

Hey that is actually a good point. That's a first for me.

He's implying the planets orbiting the sun, while everything else orbits the earth i think. At least that would be kinda logical with no detectable parallax.

How would you like a statistical measurement of champion-champion synergy and counters? by Optimousein leagueoflegends

[–]tbydal 2 points3 points ago

I love this idea, however getting the data could be difficult.

You will need the data of probably thousands of high elo games. Probably 1800's and up. I don't think people volunteering to manually submit data would be efficient or precise enough.

Maybe a little program that will submit logs of players matches, run by people who solo q a lot on higher elo's?

Number of wards purchased should be on the tab screen or at least end of game stats by jsransifin leagueoflegends

[–]tbydal 1 point2 points ago

Let me tell you one of the specific situation I would like it for:

I play a lot of premade 5's (ranked) with friends. What kind of distribution of wards each of us should buy is not really a settled question. I usually go top and figure i buy a decent amount of wards over the course of the game, but i have no idea what proportion it is to for instance our mid.

It's not simply a matter of seeing there not being any wards and so buying, we are usually well warded. But it is a great way to improve that part of your game, a part that is otherwise difficult to asses if its lacking or not.

Number of wards purchased should be on the tab screen or at least end of game stats by jsransifin leagueoflegends

[–]tbydal 0 points1 point ago

"oh, I thought I bought more wards then that" on a personal level.

That's a good thing.

Haters are gonna hate, stats or no stats. No real reason to not include it, and lots will find it useful.

Number of wards purchased should be on the tab screen or at least end of game stats by jsransifin leagueoflegends

[–]tbydal 1 point2 points ago

How about, "Kennen you are dying to their jungler 3 times now and you have not bought a single ward"?

As for endgame stats, it will sometimes give a team a pointer as to what they are doing wrong.

So what if people will whine about it. The assholes who talk crap after the game are gonna do that regardless; even if there were no stats to whine about.
