I started working for an aviation consultancy firm in my final year of BSci. Most of my work is simulation and modelling of airfield and terminal processes, as well as noise modelling, financial modelling, traffic forecasting.

I am valued for how my degree taught me to think, though it took a fair bit of effort to get used to recognising that sometimes a 'close enough is good enough' approach is best, rather than the aiming for mathematical precision all the time. Most of my colleagues are engineers, architects or logisticians.

I kind of lucked into this job, as most of my applications were for financial institutions or intelligence/defence organisations.
