Just me and my two cats! Yeah, it's lovely here. Idyllic tropical setting. Makes you feel like you're a lot further away from all the 'real life' stress. Still need a change of scenery sometimes, but really can't complain! Thanks for the answer though! Hopefully I'll never have to try it in real life!

As for the rest that was what I thought, but I just wanted to check. While surfing earlier I was with a friend so had one of those 'what if' thoughts.

Though no 911 here. Small island in the Bahamas. Local volunteer fire /rescue dept and nurse is all we have.

I found this AMA late so am not sure anyone will see this...however, does't hurt to ask.

I went out surfing this evening and it was overcast and raining a bit. It started to thunder and lightning a bit, nothing super close, but if it came closer I would have gotten out of the water. I know it can be a lot further away than you think and still strike.

In the event of a lightning strike on a person (on land and/or in water), what would be the emergency procedure to follow? From the point of view of someone who didn't get struck and can help. Or even if you did get struck and aren't dead.

I got some mugwort awhile ago off a friend. Enough for a couple of teas and to put a little bit in a satchel to hang by my pillow!

Kept the dosage for tea low, and had before bed. Got quite relaxed and chill feeling before bed. Dreamt vividly, but then I normally do anyway. Didn't notice anything unusual or get to any lucidity.

Would like to try it out more though.

First off start a dream journal. Keep it close to your bed so you can write as soon as you wake. Try and keep track of whenever you dream. Even if it's just fragments. The act of doing this will encourage your dream recall.

Yeah between this and another thread it appears that it's the LCD. I am going to use my TV as a monitor, I don't watch TV anyway, so it will be put to use. It's an upgrade in screen real estate, from a iMac 24" to a 32" JVC. Not bad for a fix! Will see if I can find a fix for the LCD but it seems I have a solution. I'll just have to sit back a little further...

Just to double check, if the problem worsens could it cause other issues? Or even if the LCD fails entirely having the external monitor means no worries?

To clarify. I was hooked up to my 720p HDTV so was able to see both the iMac screen and the external screen. The problem was apparent on the mac, but not on the TV.

Thanks though, I will look into LCD issues further. I would love to get a complete new iMac but will have to wait a bit longer for finances to improve. Things are coming together though so hopefully I can treat myself in the coming months.

Ok. I connected to HDTV and there was no problem on the external display. I double checked all the issues I had and it was fine.

Does this mean it's the monitor? And if so is that a more serious issue?

edit: I can hook up the external and use that, but could this be an issue that will cause further deterioration?

new pic Here is the actual photo I took. You can see the green lines are pretty bad. If it's the video card is there something I can do to fix it? I've seen suggestions of adjusting the fan to cool it better. Or is it time for a new video card (or new computer if I get rich suddenly)

Gotcha. As I moved my mouse over those images above I got a shadow from the cursor moving across the lines. So the problem is only visible on my comp, not on screen shots... Will take a pic! I'm reading more and more signs point to graphics card. Going to do the hardware test and whatever else I can find... cheers!

I think having 'Zen' on a to-do list is missing the point.

Just do whatever it is you need and want to do, and be mindful of it as it happens.

What everyone else said. I like the concept but it's too detailed for a logo IMO. Have you tried using larger figures? Less information on the buildings - can't you suggest a building without the windows and doors and antennas? Or use the figures as text. Or actually step the letters? What about using chunky letters positioned as actual steps with a figure somehow interacting, either as a letter or jumping between? just thoughts! good luck!
