Shipments in the USA rose just 5% year-on-year

This seems unlikely.

That's very cute. But, unless the backlight is throwing things off, he deserves a brighter, happier wall color, imho.

Yelp is worth $1.5 billion… Now what? by DrRichardCraniumin business

[–]sosoez 0 points1 point ago

If you had a piece of yelp which you did not acquire in the ipo, you would almost certainly be locked up for six months, and not allowed to sell until then.

lmgmtfu. From cal anderson on capitol hill, taking 90 is only about five more minutes than 520. From Ballard, it's almost the same distance, and less than fifteen minutes more to go via bothel. From U-district 45th & 15th, also about 15 minutes more, and only two more miles. The tolling sucks, but it's worth looking at the alternatives. They're not necessarily that bad (depending on time of day and traffic, of course).

End of life lung cancer patients more likely to receive chemotherapy in US compared to Canada, but less likely to die in hospital than in Canada. by Dr__Nickin Health

"more short-term survivors with non-small cell lung cancer in the United States received chemotherapy during the five months before death (33.2 versus 9.5 patients per 100 person-months),"

... and ...

"...oncologists paid by Medicare can profit from the administration of specific chemotherapy agents whereas oncologists in Ontario do not have a financial incentive to prescribe chemotherapy,"

Debt-financed consumption was, in other words, a response to the declining ability of most households to afford existing rates of consumption, not an increasing ability or trust in future ability to pay back that debt. by spikein Economics

The US recently imposed an exit tax for wealthy expats. If you give up citizenship, you owe taxes on appreciated assets, even if you don't want to, or aren't able to, sell them.

Next up: all expats, regardless of wealth, have to pay their share of the national debt before giving up citizenship.

Would be nice to see 2010. Their tax year is calendar year, so it should have been filed.

Thanks so much! The wrap is a great idea. I might try that with wax paper too. Just got some extension tubes last week, am looking forward to playing with them even more now. No pics yet, but if I come up with anything interesting, I'll reply again.

Yes indeed, there it is, sorry and thanks. There was a bug, maybe flickr, maybe my side, when I checked the other day, and there was nothing under the camera model on the exif page. I was particularly looking for the 100mm.

I also see you used flash. Did you use a macro flash? It's quite impressive that there's no blatant flash reflections, even with the flash compensation, on such a reflective surface. Care to share your flash configuration for this pic? Thanks! (I do see the umbrella light in "Bubbled out", also a very cool pic. )

No exif data on flickr pics == lame. But nice pics.

Edit: There was a bug. Maybe flickr, maybe my side, but I know where exif should be and it wasn't there when I looked. Was specifically looking for the 100mm, and there it is now.

No, this is near pike place. I used to have a view of the PI from an apt in your area near John & 1st West (called Metro, maybe?). I really liked the location, more than the market.
