TROPHY CASE

It seems not a day goes by where the casting isn't commended. Give your unequivocal top 3 actors on the show. by kevonwin gameofthrones

Rory McCann as Sandor is tremendous. His portrayal is exactly what I imagined when reading.

Conleth Hill has totally nailed Varys. He is perfect.

Peter Dinklage has done a great job, but Nikolaj Coster-Waldau would be my third choice. Again, exactly how I imagined Jaime from the books.

And now we wait.. by SnipsLOLzin pics

Who among Reddit is considered an expert in their field either professionally or a hobby/interest? by PhoneySopranoin AskReddit

[–]snewoeel 0 points1 point ago

Thomas Edison was considered an expert, when he barely knew anything.

Yes, there are some people that know more than most in a given field. I guess I just have a problem with the term 'expert'. It implies a certain amount of arrogance in my mind.

Also, most fields can be broken down. For example, someone can be considered highly proficient in Python but not in programming as a whole. I think in this case the term 'expert' is more appropriate. Edward O. Wilson would be considered an expert in Myrmecology, but probably not the entire study of biology.

Anyone that considers themselves an expert is most likely not. There is always something more to learn regardless of the field of study.

One I've done before that works well is attaching a mini air horn underneath his chair so that when he sits it will go off.

Capuchin monkeys. They are the most intelligent New World monkeys who have been known to use tools.

Looking for a psychological thriller movie with a twist ending? by B_Kidin AskReddit

[–]snewoeel 1 point2 points ago

A couple is going on vacation and the girl disappears. The guy spends the next few years trying to figure out what happened. Very psychological.

It definitely has one of the better twists I've seen in movies. They did an American remake but completely changed the awesome ending, so the remake kinda sucked.

What's the most out of line thing a teacher has ever done to you? by thewholespielin AskReddit

[–]snewoeel 2 points3 points ago

Similar thing happened to me. I corrected the teacher in private after class about an error he had on the test(I had the right answer but it was counted wrong). He acted as if he wasn't going to change it so I went to the assistant principal. He said he would take care of it. The next class, the teacher pulled me aside and said he was going to change it(which he wasn't),but because I went above his head and probably got him in trouble he suspended me for insubordination.

Also had a teacher that gave me a zero on an important research paper because she thought I plagiarized(which again I didn't do). She said the paper was too good and she didn't think anybody in high school should be able to write that well. I pretty much got her fired soon after.

It bothers me when people use 'anyways' instead of the correct 'anyway'.

I was reading an old philosophical essay and it got me thinking. Reddit, what's the single highest/best/most valuable virtue a person can have, and why? by voiceofsticksin AskReddit

[–]snewoeel 4 points5 points ago

Humility. A humble person strives for excellence not based on reciprocity or acknowledgement, but for self and cultural betterment. If there was more humility, we would not be arguing as much over little differences in opinion based solely on ego.

My co-workers think I'm a serial killer. What are some subtle things I can say or do to mess with them? by Dude_manin AskReddit

[–]snewoeel 2 points3 points ago

One of my coworkers thinks I'm a serial killer. I like to drop little tidbits of creepy knowledge. One day he was eating some ice cream so I said to him, "You know. Timothy McVeigh had ice cream as his last meal before he was executed. I would probably choose the same thing". Stuff like that really freaks him out.
