Look who he ran against. Bush had an extremely hard presidency. I'm not a fan of the guy and I voted for Obama after him but give it a rest. He was not the evil icon for those 8 years, point to rumsfeld and cheney for that. He wasn't the best, but one can at least argue he was better than Kerry.

depends on your interests, fps, battlefield 3. rpg, skyrim. puzzle, portal 2. action, arkham city. racing, forza 4. sports, fifa/nhl/madden.

overall, right now I'd say skyrim is the best out there, but all are great.

There are so many great games out these days, it's hard to not have a great time playing most of them. People complain a lot about minor things, but overall quality of a lot of games is very high. Enjoy and welcome back. *edit, punctuation.

This is exactly right from what I can gather (I'm a tech student, I was locked in a bookstore downtown here for the whole ordeal.) If this happened anywhere else it would be equally horrible, but not national news. There is already a bad reputation surrounding our school.

Also a Tech student, current theory in my house is that he was wanted for something (maybe the robbery in Roanoke yesterday?), shot the cop, fled to the cage parking lot, shot the second victim and took his/her car. Purely speculation of course. will update if anything else comes up

I've said over and over again that we didn't deserve the sugar bowl, you're beating a dead horse. I was just saying you didn't deserve shit either. winning the big east should not be enough to get a bcs bowl. You got in the orange bowl by default, a 3-way tie for big east champions with louisville and cinci that was decided by being highest ranked at 23? that's 'qualified' for a bcs bowl now? I know we've been over rated all year, we should be sitting at 16ish and therefore ineligible for a bcs game. My point was that the big east shouldnt be an aq. The at-large process is ridiculous, we got picked for money, that's it. No one here thinks we are legitimately more qualified than boise, k-state, baylor etc. Our sos was awful and we didn't win when it mattered. Boise is the real team i feel bad for, k-state vs arkansas is a good game in a good bowl. Boise michigan would be awesome, and then we should be in the chik-fil-a bowl with auburn. didn't turn out that way and its unfortunate for them.

btw i presented factual stats too, you just didn't show the whole picture which counts as a twist/bias.

first off, your large fan base has nothing to do with you making the orange bowl, and yeah I'm the first to point out how awful we normally do in bowl season. With that said, we're 5-6 since the 2000 season in bowls, playing 2 big east teams, beating 2 big east teams. In that same stretch you have played 7 ACC teams, going 2-5. I can twist stats around too. Honestly I would have really loved to beat clemson and played you guys in the orange bowl to reignite that old rivalry, but we got smoked and lucked out by still getting a bcs bowl. I'm nervous about michigan but I think it'll be a good game. I also think clemson/wvu will be good. I just think if you're going to say teams should have gotten it over us, you should recognize you didn't exactly earn your spot over them either.

that's exactly my point, the fact that the big east is an aq is ridiculous. yes we got embarrassed by clemson, twice. I'm not saying we deserve the sugar bowl, we don't, but WVU doesn't deserve the orange bowl either. If there aren't going to be playoffs, the BCS should at least have a ground-up rehashing of selection processes. Clearly it's very flawed: a rematch from the same division for the national title, several undeserving teams making good bowls based on either outdated rules (WVU) or a large fan base (VT and Michigan).

I'm not disagreeing, I thought our best option was the Chik-fil-a bowl. it is kinda funny that you're complaining about bs though. you're the only team from the big east ranked right now and you're 23, why exactly is your BCS bid not bs? i agree that k-state baylor and boise are all great teams and deserve a shot, but I'd say WVU is the least deserving team.

The problem isn't logic and a bracket. I can't imagine BCS people think it's the most fair system in the world when every other sport has a playoff system. The problem is money. Think about how much money everyone is making off sponsorships (FedEx orange bowl, Allstate sugar bowl, etc). Plus the whole bowl series takes up a month+, that is a lot of time to hype the important bowls and people will watch the meaningless bowls because there isn't anything else to watch. The BCS is so profitable that the decision makers don't have a reason to change it. Public outcry isn't going to maximize profits.

What needs to happen is a shorter bowl season, but also to turn the bowls into playoffs themselves. For example, take some semi-big bowls like chik-fil-a bowl, Sun bowl, capital one bowl, outback bowl, etc and make those sort of wildcard games, then have the big bowls (sugar, orange, rose, fiesta) be a sort of 'elite 8', create 2 semi-final bowls, and have the BCS national championship game as a playoff final.

That way all the money is still flowing in from sponsorships and the importance of winning the Rose bowl or Sugar bowl is still there and prestigious, but the fairness of a playoff is there too. Obviously I would re-arrange a lot and create a more organized system, but just the idea of turning bowl games into playoff rounds is my solution.

that's what I don't like, losing got them the easier road. A comment in a previous pointed it out that if LSU wins I'll be mad that another team didn't get a shot, but if Bama wins I'll be mad that they went 1-1 but get the title of national champs just because the won later. With that said I think Bama is the second best team in college football and I understand their ranking, I just think they already had their chance against LSU.

Yeah that's why I didn't get to do it last time. I came in the summer last time so I'd like to go back in the winter for a new view and less crowds, maybe I'll have better luck with the subway too.
