Best friends can love each other. Love doesn't have to be sexual.

Brother's dog consistently asks to be let outside twice: first to pee, then to poo. Any way to train him to take care of it all at once? by jusksmitin Dogtraining

[–]skwigger 0 points1 point ago

Does he get rewarded with a treat when he comes in? My dog's been known to split up potty breaks for more treats. We'll usually only verbally reward him the 2nd time. This is a rare occurrence though.

Yeah, I agree, it will be bulky for most. I have friends that barely ever take pictures, and can't be bothered even carrying a point and shoot. I'm one of those people that takes a pic of anything and everything.

I've had a DSLR for 1.5yrs now. We bring it almost everywhere, but I've wanted one for years. I love the thing and often regret it when I don't have it around.

Holiday in Orlando, yes the theme parks, can any locals or repeat visitors advise good places to eat. by Temujin1210in orlando

[–]skwigger 1 point2 points ago

Avoid eating at the theme parks if possible. Only the more expensive restaurants are good, but they're highly overpriced. If you don't have kids, still expect there to be dozens running around even the nice restaurants at Disney.

There are a couple exceptions. The food at the countries in Epcot is good. The food at Sea World isn't bad.

We all know /r/politics sucks, that's why we're here. Talking about them won't solve anything. It's just a circlejerk for us.

The Chain Restaurant Is The Worst Deal in America: Why You Should Stop Eating Out So Much by skibummerin Frugal

[–]skwigger 0 points1 point ago

I eat out a lot.

  • I often get tap water. If a restaurant charges a reasonable amount for soda, like $1.50-$2, I'll get one. I generally don't buy bottled or canned soda as I can get that anywhere. I want a fountain drink, they're magical, just like keg beer.
  • Portions are sometimes too big, but that's great, that means I have 2 meals instead of one. I often factor in the number of meals I can get out of a meal at a restaurant when looking at prices.
  • I don't tip, because fuck you get a better job <-- That's not true, I generally tip 20% if the service is good

There are some "good deals" out there that aren't as good as the face value. For example, Olive Garden's all you can eat soup, salad and breadsticks for $4.95 or $5.95 (I can't remember which and I think it changes anyway). $5-6 sounds good for lunch, especially all you can eat, but then a beverage will be $2.50+ at Olive Garden, and tip will be another $1 or $2, so now it's closer to $10+, and you don't get any leftovers.

TIL text messages cost you, in some cases, over 5000% more than what they cost your provider to send. by WholeWideWorldin todayilearned

You have the option of not texting. That is part of the equation in a free market. Texting is far from a necessity.

[–]skwigger 0 points1 point ago

There are other ways to contact people. I have a smartphone so this puts me at an advantage to many, but I can email someone using my unlimited data plan, or use one of many other systems over data. I know text messages are often more convenient, but you could always call the person. Unless the person you are calling is on a different network and it is between the hours of 7am and 9pm, you probably won't be charged for the minutes.

Yeah, mine was poorly worded compared to yours, but you obviously get the point.

I love me some trickeration. It makes the game much more interesting.

My friend Triforce Mike loved bikes, comics and booze (a little too much). He got hit by a car on the 30th and passed away yesterday. Please don't be as much of a dumb ass as him by ginpandain bicycling

[–]skwigger 6 points7 points ago

Mike was a cool guy. He was the only one working the first day I ever went to A Comic Shop. He had a real mohawk over a foot high. I'm surprised to see he was 28, looked younger.

I wanted to bring up the point of bikers obeying traffic laws but didn't quite know how to do it without being a dick. It sucks to lose him this way.

Also, 99.99% sure you can get a DUI even on a bike.

A young boy steals a drink from the convenience store. This is what the police did to the boy’s face. The police released their K9 dog on the boy, allowing the dog to maul the boy’s face to the point where his parents didn’t even recognize him. by Mind_Virusin Bad_Cop_No_Donut

[–]skwigger 6 points7 points ago

Well, the title says "young boy", while I would normally describe someone of the age of 16 as a teenager. The wording "young boy" is used to make you believe the person was much more innocent than they are.

Also, I'm in no way saying that he deserved to be mauled.
