In history religion has been the most destructive human device ever conceived. For instance there was a time when the middle east was the epicenter for a massive scientific movement in math and astronomy. In fact algebra and arithmetic are derived from this very movement and alot of the stars you see with your naked eye where named during this time. Unfortunately a religious tyrant decided that any work that doesn't explain god is devil worship and completely set mankind back 500 years. Also many great thinkers like Davinci and Galileo were persecuted by churches for believing in things that didn't match the bible. Religion has killed more people than aids, molaria, cancer, smoking, and heart disease combined. Most genocides started because of a religious belief including the holocaust. People have been mislead to believe that if you trust in god than you already know the answer to life. The problem with that is we dont know the answer to life, and every religious person has stopped trying to find it because they think they already have. So now here the rest of us are trying to understand the vast universe around us and be open minded yet the theist are recruiting our children to believe in god and stop looking for answers. We are fighting an uphill battle with a parachute on our back, and the religious say "they are being persecuted!."

Let me get this straight you want everyone to believe in the bible, not the koran or any other religion. Then you want us to throw away things like evolution and any science that doesn't mesh with the bible. You want the people to be governed under gods laws which involves persecuting gays and other religions. And you want our sons and daughters to fight oversees to fight your holy war. But you think you are the ones being persecuted!

There is a movement happening where people are wondering why in the hell there so many people that follow a book that is 2000 years old and still has not provided a single reasonable answer that can explain even the most basic environmental, astronomical or physiological phenomenon. We have come to 2 conclusions, they are dumb or they are blind.
