In my experience Launchy is much quicker and remembers what words go with which programs/locations.

Also when you find what you are looking for, you can press tab and open the folder that the program is in or open the properties.

I use the program many many many times a day and can not use a computer without it. Try it out! Its free http://www.launchy.net/download.php#windows

You can add any directory and any type of file that you want Launchy to look for. Its always the first thing that I install on a new machine.
