My GF of 8 months says she got pregnant from a broken condom. I have proof she stole a condom from the trash can. She won't get an abortion. What should I do? by WhatTheFuckDoIDoHELPin AskReddit

I'd say there's at least a 80% chance this is an elaborate troll story. But if it's not, good luck proving this is what happened. And welcome to fatherhood.

Go to Chuckie Cheese, where a kid can be a kid.

Why is the American government so afraid of its people? by kikkeroogin AskReddit

[–]schrute_buck 0 points1 point ago

In there defense I'm afraid of the American people as well. We seem by and large to very poorly informed idiots that either don't vote, or vote for the wrong reasons based on very little understanding of the ideas and principals surrounding an issue.

What Do Atheists Do in Crisis? (possibly a repost, not sure, either way.. Rock'n Roll) by Canadian_2in videos

[–]schrute_buck 2 points3 points ago

Well they probably have a brief moment of panic like everyone else, and then they take a logical, reasonable assessment of the situation. Then they try to figure out a way to get themselves out of it, since they know that they can only count on themselves to solve the problem.

Slightly more effective than prayer, since they are taking personal ownership of the problem instead of just hoping it gets better.

Do you think gay couples should feel scared holding hands walking down the streets of America? by mossner1992in AskReddit

[–]schrute_buck 1 point2 points ago

No. Never let someone make you afraid to be yourself. When someone demands you change who you are to better suite their ideals, you stand up and shout as loud and proud as you can. If you live in a town that has a bad enough attitude to make you afraid, you don't change, you don't move, you rise up and fight it. Take a page from the 70's and start a "Pink Panthers" so to speak.

U of L, I'm just down the road in Lexington. Google "Knobb creek machine gun shoot". You must attend this event at some point during your time there.

I'm assuming your work involves teenage boys. Do you actually teach them that it's better to plant their seed in the belly of a whore than to spill it upon the Earth. Raised in a Christian household, I felt really terrible about masturbation for years.

Well there's the fact that the bible is pretty clear that the Earth is 7,000 years old vs science's billions of years teaching. The idea that 40 days of rain would completely cover the Earth's surface, that 2 of each creature on Earth could fit on a boat, that a man can be raised from the dead, that all humans were one race speaking one language until the tower of Babel, that a tower could actually reach the heavens, etc.

There's quite a bit there that disagrees with science. Heck, if every animal that ever existed was created at once, that means that man and dinosaur walked the either together. It's been my experience in dealing with Christian kids that that they react very poorly to these sort of suggestions. A sort of shocked anger that their beliefs have been challenged.

With that in mind, do you think that a modern Christian kid is at a disadvantage in the modern educational system? High schools tend to be more open minded out of fear of law suit, but an institute of higher learning would probably flunk a kid for writing about these beliefs for a paper.

Also, what are your thoughts on a salaried pastor. Since Christ gave his knowledge for free, do you think making pastor a paid position is a problem?

Why can't I order alcohol from a company separate form the distribution process and have it delivered to my door if I showed ID? by RetroYouthin AskReddit

[–]schrute_buck 0 points1 point ago

Because it's federally regulated. The system was initially created to prevent a monopoly in the post prohibition area. But a few areas of the rules have relaxed, allowing for exactly that thing to happen.

You're there to learn. You've got a whole life to party. Adjust to the learning process, then try to work in the fun.

How do you feel about teaching youths the "absolute truth of the universe" so to speak at what would be their most open minded phase of life? Do you find that you have a hard time helping them reconcile the modern scientific knowledge that they learn in school (evolution, the big bang, a universe that's billions of years old) with the drastically different and outright contradictory teachings of the bible?

Sorry if that steps into your forbidden territory, but I am genuinely curious, and figured it might me the only legit question you get.

Why would a gay person *want* to get married in a church? by LordPanzerin AskReddit

[–]schrute_buck 1 point2 points ago

I'm pretty sure that if you'd just let them marry at all, they'd be more than happy to avoid the churches. That said, they are like THE ONE place that is specifically built for a wedding.

For your wedding you can be at either the Notre Dame cathedral, or local rec center... Which would you choose.

Regardless, pushing her to get into shape is not the answer. If she's depressed she needs counseling, not her boyfriend reminding her how fat she is.

She should be whatever she wants. Fitness requires work, and it's not what everyone wants. Let her do her thing, and of it's that major of an issue and you two are that far out of agreement, then this relationship should probably end.

What kind of jobs does a MBA make you qualified for? by amandahugingkissin AskReddit

It's a generic business degree. It qualifies you to work any entry level shit job at any business, but when after a couple years of hardwork, when it's time to move up the later, it looks great on a resume.

Other than her giving you shit for going to gym, I don't see anything out of the ordinary. People tend to get lazier/out of shape as they age. If she wants to get fat and you don't like it, your options are to accept her as it, and move on. I would have a talk with her about giving you shit though. Personally I found that the best strategy when I started getting into shape and wife got in worse shape, was to work out twice as hard and eventually inspire her with the awesome things my body was doing. But for me, it was never about a weight gain or physical attraction thing. I actually like my ladies a little on the thick side. For me it was the fact that my wife was in TERRIBLE physical condition, and would get winded just keeping up with me during a shopping trip.

Warning: Falls under legal consultation. Does anyone have idea about the legality of using Google Earth images for a music cd cover? by lurkuriousin AskReddit

[–]schrute_buck 3 points4 points ago

Contact a lawyer. That being said the only clear exception is for a book. Based on their wording I'd imagine they're OK with you using their images for an informative publication that uses their image with to illustrate a point or lesson. An album cover whereby you're just using their image as a window dressing so to speak, would probably fall under the forbidden category of t-shirts, beach towels, shower curtains, mugs, etc.

I'm not a lawyer, and before you move ahead on production of something that could land you in court, cost you a lot of money, and lead to a cease and desist order that prohibits the sale of your work, you should contact the copyright holder.

If you mean it will continue to be sold, then yes. This is just 2 tech giants bickering over patents. MS fired the first shot over an Android phone, this was retaliation. Both parties will mutually drop their suits and that'll be the end of it.
