Uhm, I missed the discussion on what genre ASIWYFA are. Why would they not be post-rock, how do they differ from the "typical" post-rock?

We Who Value Simplicity Have Built Incomprehensible Machines by SimonLeemanin programming

I often feel like we should scrap every single line of code and start over. We could do that with hardware too - scrap everything, do not care about legacy; design every piece of hardware and software from scratch with the lessons learned in the past 40 years in mind. The sad part is, even if we ignore all the problems that would create, we'll be in pretty much the same spot in another 30-40 years :-/

That can be said about pretty much any genre out there.

It's easier to spot it in the post-rock world since there are not so many bands to begin with.

No, it's not fine. Whether you and I have embarassing crap on our facebook is irrelevant. I don't have a single embarassing thing at home, but it's still wrong for an employer to demand a visit before hiring me.

I should be thanking you guys for the great music you create and the awesome shows you organize. I was at every single post-rock Bulgaria show in 2011 and I'm looking forward to the GIAA show and your album. Don't ever give up, please :)

He author seems to think there is a direct link between hardware manufacturers, software engineers and content providers, and that all three will conspire to the benefit of content providers.

To the benefit of all three parties. Look at the game console market: all major consoles are tightly controlled by their respective manufacturers. There are no independent companies in sight. Smart phones seem to be going that way too, although slower and it looks like there's more resistance.

If anything, the more the hardware/software firms can screw the content providers, the more money they will make - at the expense of the content providers.

Which is precisely what Apple is doing with the market place
