Perhaps they were successful in moving the debate to the far right? For example, we are talking about contraception instead of abortion. That has to be worth something to them.

PFC Bradley Manning Announced as the 2012 People’s Choice Honoree. by Chipzzzin politics

I think it was in his chat logs with Lamo. I still haven't seen any reports of people being harmed by the release, but I haven't looked much either. I've only heard anecdotes from people on the internet.

From what I understand, he did present concerns to his superiors, but they didn't care to do anything about it. I believe it was something like imprisoning men (and torturing them?) for handing out political literature. I'm on my phone and can't look up the info easily.

I'm in a position to work from anywhere with an internet connection. I missed last summer's heat. I'm seriously considering leaving for this summer. People say it won't be as hot, but if May is hot too, I think I'll skip out.

Bodhi Linux 1.4.0 Released! by coldsystemin linux

[–]rvqbl 1 point2 points ago

I use it mainly with gmail on an old laptop. It seems faster/less resource intensive than Firefox or chromium. The one annoyance is that it crashes every time I close a gmail video chat and doesn't give an error message.

I look forward to the new version of Bodhi. It works well on my really old laptop.

Sorry for the delay, just saw this comment. Look on the internet and you will see. This is the first link http://www.word-detective.com/2007/03/01/champchomp/. Its a common mistake, and the original usage will most likely die out.

I haven't seem the term "corporate sponsor" used elsewhere, so I assumed the OP meant supporter or donor, as revealed in the documents that they gave a large donation, which turned out to be for licenses. I'm not trying to defend Microsoft, this was just something I read in another post.

I need some help by thorax007in nonprofit

[–]rvqbl 2 points3 points ago

If it is a really small or new non-profit, they probably don't have anyone doing a good job with the finances. Do you know the background of the treasurer? A lot of non-profits won't have a treasurer and records may be orderly, but not according to any common standards. It will probably mean sitting down with the treasurer and going through the records so you can make sense of them (and maybe getting asked to be the treasurer).

From my experience, non-profit financial statements won't be really different from others, not to the degree of not knowing how to interpret the main parts of them.

I tried calling him twice today about it. His phones were swamped and no one answered. Even his voicemail was full. I did get through to Coburn. Glad to see it had some affect.

Are there any plans to merge Talk and Google+ Chat by DoctorStevein Android

[–]rvqbl 0 points1 point ago

It was another botched release, like google +. It was a social program by nature, but they released it by invitation only. When I wanted to try it, there was no one to work on a project with. I had such a bad experience with it that I didn't care to try it again when they made it open to everyone.

Rick Santorum: “Many of the Christian faith have said, well, that’s okay, contraception is okay. It’s not okay. It’s a license to do things in a sexual realm that is counter to how things are supposed to be.” by laffenin politics

I'm not sure what you mean by saying the crucifixion is good news, but I can write you a letter testifying or giving an account of what happened to me, but it will still be a letter. I guess that an example would be that of a blog post addressed to a general audience versus an email addressed specifically to me. I feel that I didn't get the point of your comment and didn't respond appropriately.

I don't want to detract from what you wrote with this argument, but they are technical terms used by scholars who study this. Paul was writing a letter, an epistle, to the church in Rome. The gospels were written as more of a news account. Because they are different forms of literature, you treat them differently. They may have overlapping features, but they don't have the same purpose. It is the same way that you read the letters to the editor differently than the news stories in a newspaper. Again, I appreciate what you wrote, but this point of clarity will help your overall message.

[–]rvqbl 1 point2 points ago

Ok, but in Biblical studies, epistles and gospels are two distinct forms of literature. They are technical terms. Your post was a little confusing because of that (even with the edit) and made me overly skeptical of everything else. I appreciate your input though.
