By "old" design I took it to be a bill from the 80s to 90sa with the design as it has been since what? The 50's? Because you don't get silver certs in circulation and probably would not spend them. I got an "old" 20 last week and spent it, printed 1995 I think.

I was pretty much informed by everyone, people knowledgeable about the law that I should drop it or I was going to be fucked hard in this small town. I was and the interaction with the cops has died to nothing but the rumor mill is the residual shit that's ruined everything.

It was 1 year ago and it looks like there isn't shit that I can do that won't make it worse again (from the cops) as I try and save up money to leave.

It isn't illegal if the person owning the property doesn't care or doesn't make a complaint. There is nothing intrinsically wrong with taking a photograph and so it should not be a harassable offense (unless the cop decided, strangely and as an obvious waste of taxpayer money, to go find the owner of the property and ask if they wanted to press trespassing charges against kids that were doing something that isn't illegal in the slightest but something that the owner might not like only because it draws cops to bothering owners of businesses).

Its a long story. It was an elementary school aged book I read in maybe 1995 where someone came up with the word "fringle" to replace the word pencil and it somehow caught on. I have no idea why I remembered this 16 years later but I googled the word and the crappy paperback book didn't come up.

Let it be a little rude but not overly snappy. I find the range of emotions in chatbots goes from dull/slightly inquisitive to right off rude because someone says something wrong. No playfullness that a normal person would do in chat if someone went right from "hi" to "You're just a chatbot, fuck you".. instead they get all "OH YOU'RE RUDE" instead of being a bit cheeky like someone would be normally if someone went from nice to rude online suddenly ("Ah, heh, I'd say fuck you too but I don't have thirty bucks on me!")

Eh, there's a few things that are odd. I was in Florida a couple months ago and took a few test shots of a tanker.. I happened to be near a guard shack and someone came out and told me to delete them. I could've easily just not done it and said I did but they were test shots and I didn't care so I did. I just told the lady I was taking photos for industrial art and she wasn't too nuts on me (what can a 27 year old white guy dressed like a tourist do with photos of a boat that's been there forever and probably has its plans or that of boats similar to it all over the internet).

I looked it up later, yes, that was on the list of ports that wasn't cool to take photos of.. and I was technically trespassing anyway (there was no gate or signs, just the road went from paved to gravel with a couple split offs without any easy distinction to this back way into this industrial place).

I didn't care anyway, test shots so fuck it.

To be honest he didn't know the information he was given was false. He at least said, once he found out it was false, that he wishes the correct and un-propagandized information got to him instead of the bullshit.

If I was told by the people that gave me information that all the massive piles of evidence that they've dug through said "X definitely = 2,000" when it turns out those info guys were purposely full of shit and X was exactly equal to zero there isn't a whole lot I could do but say "The info I was given said this and I based my decisions on that."

It is totally legal to take photos on private property as well. The owner of said business can request you to stop if they like and ask you to leave if they want to, if you refuse its trespassing.

In no case are those photographs illegal and subject to either deletion or even the required viewing by a police officer, 4th Amendment.

The owners can ask you to stop and if you don't do that they can ask you to leave (or if they like they can just ask you to leave). If you refuse then you are trespassing and the cops can be called.

The officer in this case would be skipping over a couple steps, specifically the big one of getting a complaint from the business owner that they want the cop to do something about the guys on their property that, while not public, is publicly accessible. Unless you want cops to wander around businesses like the businesses own security making sure nobody takes a picture then this cop is just a dick.

Sure, but the cop can only be told to enforce a trespassing complaint if a complaint is filed, which usually isn't done on store property until the person steals something or does something actually illegal. Until that call to the police from the store owner they are regarded as just any other member of the public going through that parking law.

I did, I went to lawyers (didn't have more than several hundred dollars in my bank account, a couple grand was the lowest just to get a retainer), I went to the mayor (long discussion with him, its a small enough town where I could show up.. he gave me the cold shoulder).

And no matter what, they all told me unofficially that things were going to get worse for me if I asked any more questions. The report was filed, they said, and based on their word against mine I was fucked. 8 vs 1.

It said I didn't know where I was coming from (my friend's door was across the street). It said I was drunk (I was stone cold sober). It said I specifically said "MY JOB IS TO GET COPS IN TROUBLE" (caps and all).

So no, there isn't a lot you can say to make me feel better, I feel that "blue wall" (its sad there's enough of it going on where there's a real term for it, google it) is evil. Don't charge them with a crime, just put it in a police report and leak it to employers.

So yeah, tell me more about how things could have been dealt with "differently", tell me more about how "well, life just ain't fair".

You're just as fucking bad as the next one, the only thing good about you is you're halfway willing to discuss it anonymously, which, well, cool, but when pressured by several other cops to badger a kid on his way to work, just like that one cop that was halfway decent to me, you'd cave just like the next one.

I used to be fine with cops, they were there to protect me and all that, stopped drunk drivers, fought crime, all that shit. I'm fine with that, in fact, I'm 100% fine with someone being told "Get away from the tracks, dude.. you might get hit by a train, they're faster than they look.. and you're trespassing."

What happened was I didn't lie (why would I be looking into a cop car for maybe 5 seconds at 3 am) when cops were out walking and I happened to be near their car when they were coming back to it. One lie leads to more so I was honest.. looked like someone was asleep in your car but you're obviously out doing your job, so no issue.

Surrounded by several bored cops for 3 fucking hours and badgered, fired from my job when the report (that lied and said they were out looking for a fucking peeping tom with a camera.. wearing exactly what I was (eventually released because my face didn't match to all those other people looking like me at 3 am on the abandoned street), when I just walked out of my friend's apartment across the street but somehow in the report I "forgot" where I was coming from..

Could have been handled differently or fucking dirty as hell, illegal, and immoral (I still, a year later, have people that don't talk to me because my name is shit, people in my former work (I'd still be working there if it weren't for those fucking dirty cops) knew people I did outside of work and told them after the report somehow made its way over to my work, I had no way to defend myself as I wasn't charged with anything, so the report is all and I'm stuck fighting rumors and trying to save up to leave this town as my name is ruined.

If I was walking down the street with fucking C4 explosive strapped to a strap instead of a camera I'd probably be treated better.

So, yeah, it could have been handled differently, as in not corruptly, not shitty, and not good cops like you saying "well.. yeah.. could've been done a bit differently..."

Sure, they didn't know what I was doing.. but when they realized I was maybe looking into whether or not they were doing something illegal (which they were not and I commended them on doing their job decently) they badgered me for 3 hours and smeared my name and got me fired. Fun times. Could've just ended at "oh, well, good, you're not doing anything illegal and neither are we, goodnight sir." Instead people yell "Pedophile!" at me on the street because they used a small town's gossip ring to destroy my life.
