1st year at Bonnaroo- Any tips? by HippieFreak0312in bonnaroo

[–]remeard 2 points3 points ago

  • Water Bottle - Inside Bonnaroo there are about 5 or 6 filtered water stations. They're amazing; fill up often.

  • Flavoring - completely optional, but every once in a while the filter water stations are backed up and all you can get is the regular - which is fine, just has more of a sulfury taste to it. Buy a thing of Gatorade powder to bring with you; makes bland water delicious - plus you have more energy

  • Wet wipes - A godsend. Not only is it a way to clean up a little bit, but also a fantastic way to cool down while at the camp.

  • Goldbond - If you're going to be moving around, chances are you'll rub yourself dry. I've been told Goldbond is fantstic.

  • Bandanna - Depending on the water, here in Tennessee it can get super dry. Dry, hot conditiosn + moving people + disturbed ground = dust. Do your future self a favor and wear a bandanna or something over your mouth like a western bank robber. I think it was 2008 where we were going through a massive drought - for a few weeks after Bonnaroo I was coughing up all sorts of gunk that built up in my lungs.

  • Flashlight and toilet paper - You're going to want to use the restroom at night. In porta-potties, there are no lights. It's dangerous to go alone. Take it.

  • Porta-potties. Speaking of which. Keep track of these. If you see one, remember the general time that they come and go; it should be somewhat on the similar schedule every day. Nothing is better than using a recently cleaned porta-potty at Bonnaroo. Nothing.

It was huge viral marketing campaign for bubblegum.

Took this in 2006. I don't remember these last year. Anyone recognize this light-up bugs? by unlockedhedin bonnaroo

The fire flies. If I remember correctly, they were there from at least 2006 to 2009.

Australian Diablo III players are currently seeing average pings upwards of 380ms, rendering the game unplayable at higher difficulties by millionsofjewsin Games

10 years ago if you told me that people would be in defense of CD keys, love a DRM service that requires you to sign on every time you play a game, and came pre-installed as thrid party software on game disks, I would have called you an idiot.

People are just warming up to DRM and being limited with their purchases.

Everything I've seen about Diablo III is talking about server load issues, single player lag issues, etc.. but is the game any good otherwise? by Lucas_Steinwalkerin Games

It's pretty fantastic. There's a few nicks here and there, and the art direction is a bit off taking at first. The difficulty is incredibly easy up until I'd say 3/4ths of the way until the first Act, at which point it turned into a more difficult/enjoyable experience. Honestly, for the first hour I thought I'd never use potions in the game.

But yeah, I'd say go for it. If you're on the edge, K-Mart has a $15 coupon for any game after purchase.

Honestly, I think the BF3 maps don't hold a candle to the BC2 maps, especially when it comes to Rush.

Plus there was much better variety.

Bela Fleck and the Flecktones - Big Country (road trip music) by Bend_Herin Music

[–]remeard 1 point2 points ago

Bela Fleck and the Flecktones are easily the most talented group of musicians sharing the stage together, at least in my opinion. Every single one of them are absolutely brilliant, their styles compliment each other so well.

Not to mention they're some of the nicest people you'll ever meet. Go and see them and stay after the show, typically they'll come out for a meet and greet. My mother gave Bela a bottle of our home made wine one night after a show, for quite a while he sent her Christmas cards every year, I'm not sure if he still does, but he's a genuine individual.

For those who thought it died down, nope. The Paul Spam is back! /r/Politics is currently bombarded by a bunch of articles and videos circle-jerking over Ron Paul's "wins." by RON-PAUL-SUCKSin EnoughPaulSpam

I regularly visit the /new/ section to try to help weed out spam that's coming in, and you're absolutely right for the most part. Back in January it was shocking to see the amount submissions. However, Feb-Late April the activity nearly vanished, sadly it seems like it's coming back.

Although the spam is bothersome, I think that down voting valid submissions because it disagrees with their views is worse.

I'm speaking of downvoting other threads, such as the ones regarding the elections yesterday.

[–]remeard 8 points9 points ago

Their whole behavior is really damaging to what /r/politics at the very least tries to be. Right now, there's around 3 or 4 threads discussing today's elections. Since he didn't win, they're being downvoted to a negative number.

It's the kind of behavior that draws people here.

Being able to climb anything made up for it though
