I was surprised that Avengers Disassembled had never been done before, the name is so obvious. I thought it was an okay premise but like all things Bendis it was executed really poorly. Everyone says this and I will repeat it, he depends too much on dialogue and his story always come up short.

Now, the event itself I hated. It basically destroyed the Avengers concept and the subsequent events furthered the damage. They were no longer a team that was just around in case Kang or Ultron showed up or stuff like that. Now they are a giant police force of super heroes and if someone doesn't obey them then they go down, AvX is the culmination of all this.

I think the Avengers should be like the animated series that currently airs. A few heroes that monitor threats and take them down if it is causing damage, they are supposed to be reactionary. Any politics should be limited to within the group, like when Antman was put on trial to see if he should remain an Avenger. Finally, they are supposed to fight foes that none of them could withstand alone like Doom or Hydra not Osborn or the Hood.
