Unsure between One X and Gnex by anisenayatiin Android

[–]redditchulous 0 points1 point ago

Yeah...don't judge before you actually see it. By all accounts from all reviews, the HTC One X screen, despite not being AMOLED, performs absolutely amazingly with sharp colors and accurate color representation. The only thing, and I'm saying the only thing that AMOLED beats the HTC's screen out in is the black reproduction. However, for me that's not a concern because the One X's blacks are actually pretty damn good already.

My volume rocker doesn't clack around...I think that may be a defect in yours. I've switched out 2 HTC One Xs at AT&T already, so I know there are a lot of problems with the initial batch.

Except I wouldn't say Sense is that bloated anymore. Out of all the custom skins that manufacturers have put on it, I like Sense 4.0 the most; it's actually had features that have improved the UI experience.

The S4 chip also leads to increased battery performance over the Tegra 3...so unless you want the slightly better gaming performance from the Tegra, get the S4 instead.

Someone with official times! Thanks for the information, this makes me feel a lot more secure in parking my car late at night.

Damn, the Ackerman parking lot is probably a gold mine for those parking attendants at that time...well there goes that. I guess I'll be limited to lot 7 only then.

Haha, I knew that someone would post something like that. I don't drive to the gym often, but when I do, it's because I want to play basketball really badly, not exercise. I know that I'm still really lazy though, so I'm not entirely excusing myself from being judged like this.

Have you ever parked in the garage underneath the IM fields? That's the one I use most often and the one I'm most interested in.

Does anybody have a video of their performance? I can't find it on youtube.

Wi-Fi Tether For Root Users V3 Lands In The Play Store, Grab It While You Still Can by skylenormanin Android

[–]redditchulous 0 points1 point ago

There are three main apps that I know of that do this: ClockworkMod Tether, Klink Tether, and PDANet. However, all three of these require your phone to be connected to the laptop through a usb cable.

I've been trying to look for a wireless app that does the same thing, but I haven't yet. A poster above stated that this app does preserve the original TTL, but I've looked through the website and I haven't found evidence of that yet*.

*I really hope that they do prevent TTL detection because I would download this in an instant.

While that is true, they can also investigate your TTL packets regardless of what tethering app you use.

A tether app such as this won't be invisible to carriers unless it preserves the original TTL.

Wow, I had no idea! I took a quick look through the updates, but I hadn't seen anything that stated that they were trying to preserve the TTL. I can't seem to find the documentation that they do it on their website, could you link it for me?

Sorry for being like this, I've already gotten a notice from AT&T stating that I would be put on a tethering plan if I was caught again, so I'm trying to be extra careful.

What I don't get is why hasn't any wifi-tether developer added a function that allows users to hide their usage from carriers a la Clockworkmod tether, PDAnet, or Klink Tether.

I would completely understand if it's impossible, but I haven't heard that it is.

From the benchmarks, the dual core Krait is actually more powerful in the CPU department. It's also manufactured using a smaller process, which means more efficient battery usage.

I really wanted the Galaxy Nexus, but AT&T never released a subsidized version for their network, and I couldn't justify the cost of buying it unlocked.

I was debating about buying an iPhone on contract and flipping it to get the cash I needed, but I don't want to go through another two years without customer support and warranty for my phone.

I would too, because an HTC One X with an SD card slot sounds amazing...but too many pictures of Sprint's super-slow network has made me think twice :\

Yeah, I haven't flashed a new ROM in almost a year, so I've forgotten a lot of the specifics with how I managed Darktremor A2ext etc. So I feel that if I mess with it I might just brick it...

I will try buying a new battery though, I'm hoping that's the issue.

I feel like I'm in the same boat as you. It's frustrating to see the rest of the world get their One Xs while AT&T won't even give us a release date :(.
