I don't know about egg whites being the problem. For example, people have a hard time making bread which usually has no eggs.

I think it's more about recipes that are better taught in person. There's somethings that are simply hard to write in a recipe format, or even hard to write at all as the topic at hand may be highly subjective. Eg, it's rather hard to explain the resistance look and feel of a hollandaise sauce at various stages.

Of course, and it leaves the potential for those times a cop wants to be a dick. Officers can run you up for any number of ridiculous reasons based upon their "discretion."

I've had such discretion used against me simply for being gay and at a bowling alley that my fundie mother didn't want me to be at while she was also there.

Nice! This is something I do, although I go a little further.

Roast whole beets in the oven (on a silpat/baking-sheet), cool, peel, slice, cover, chill. Don't forget the silpat/baking-sheet, otherwise you'll probably need to clean your oven.

Let the goat cheese come to room temp and roll out between two olive oil brushed pieces of plastic wrap. Remove top plastic, sprinkle with chopped fresh dill, then roll cheese into a log and chill.

Roughly chop some walnuts.

Assemble by taking a portion of slices of beet, a medallion or three of the cheese log, sprinkle with walnuts, drizzle with condiment quality olive oil, and a grind or two of fresh pepper.

You can also put this over a base of dressed mesclun greens or a tart green like mache or watercress.

If you are doing black and white, do what everyone else is saying and buy an older model which uses separate toner and drum cartridges. HP's have become crap, but older models were workhorses.

For business quality color, I prefer the Xerox Phasers. They are excellent network printers and I've never had one fail on me. Ink can be expensive until you find a 2ndary market provider. Stick to laser and toner printers for black and white.

In my state, if you are in a room of people you have no assumed right to privacy. It's a single party state (one party to the conversation must have consent to the recording). There are rules that cover where one might have an assumed privacy that are protected, such as a bedroom/bathroom where you are alone etc.

This just fuels the unfounded fear of those who are HIV+ You cannot possibly get HIV this way. If you could EVERYONE would have it. Cutting away dead keratin/skin/whatever doesn't have ANY risk at all.

I've held friends and others who are deep in to AIDS (HIV has taken over basically) and people fear to touch them. It's heart breaking. A simple hug is denied them for fear of contracting HIV.

They recently changed the formula for pyrex the official brand and they are no longer as good. Vintage pyrex is all the rage at flea markets and garage sales.

Also, many shit companies print pyrex on dishes that aren't pyrex.
