Backcountry solutions: splitboard or snowshoes? by Jayrossin snowboarding

[–]realzondarg 2 points3 points ago

In my opinion, splitboards are perfect if you go on long hikes. It takes some time to assemble/disassemble, and most boards are a lot heavier than regular snowboards.

If you're more into accessing powder runs from within a resort, snow shoes would be the better option.

A day splitboarding is a day spent hiking with a single run as a reward, while a day with snowshoes is a day snowboarding with a few hikes in between. At least that's how I look at it.

What do they teach about Hitler/the Holocaust in German history classes? by JavaPantsin answers

Judging from exchange students' behaviour can be a bit misleading, as they have usually been away from home for a long time. Most people tend to idolize their home country if away for long enough.

Like many other nationalities, Germans constantly compare their host country to their home, and quite frankly, Germany does pretty well in many respects, while other countries will be cool at other things. Throw in some home sickness, and you get the "Fuck yeah Deutschland"/"Fuck yeah America"/"Fuck yeah Palau" you're used to among exchange students.
