Israel had 10-20% Muslim population for decades before that happened. The US is still less than 5% Muslim.

Except our parents had stuff we usually have never bought like multiple magazine subscriptions every month, movie tickets every week, film and developing every time they wanted pictures, 60% smoking cigarettes every day and 80% drinking every day. Even with that my dad had the disposable income working as an A&W manager to fly my mom to Europe for vacation before they got married and buy a house and 25 acres outright before he was 25.

25 acres before 25, 25 acres before 25...

You know how many times he has said that as a point of contention that my generation is lazy good for nothings? He retired from a medium sized university town as a city engineer in 2008 when he was 57 after 35 years of working for them, the year after that the contract went to 60 and they are now fighting for 65. He may live 30-40 years, maybe longer than he worked there. He has a pension for life with cost of living adjustments that is more than his position pays now to start, health insurance for life and get this, free tickets to all city functions. The state I live in gave my dad a free fishing and hunting license for life this year.

Let's talk about the free tickets, last year our local fireworks show cost 25 bucks, which I paid for me and my girlfriend. We walked in and we saw maybe 10 children among the couples but 100's of old people, a lot of them I recognize as city employees because it is a small town. It did not click until I got home that night. When I was growing up in that town that beach had 100's of children along with their middle aged parents and maybe 10 older folk watching the fireworks. The function was a minimal fee for everyone but now to subsidize this huge baby boomer generations' insatiable desire for entitlements; retired city employees get in free, senior citizens pay 10 dollars and everyone who is working age pays 25 dollars. Don't worry kids get in free but as my retried dad demanded to know, where was my brother and his 3 kids, at home in their front yard watching the show through the trees because 50 dollars is what my brother makes in day after taxes.

My dad spends his days fishing with his friends, golfing with his in-laws and playing the occasional video game while drinking his home-brewed beer on his houseboat with the 70" plasma screen.

CarterAdministration explains how social responsibility works between the generations (Boomers, GenX, GenY/Millenials) by JamesGrayin DepthHub

[–]rakista 4 points5 points ago

Downvoting because it is just trite libertarian/miniarchism talking points with absolutely no insight on how the human condition or human society functions.

Anyway I don't think you should be responsible for your wife, she is an adult herself.

Marriage is almost entirely about creating a partnership in which responsibility for a loved one is key to the vast, vast majority of people out there.

For those who comment if he isn't a part of society, he is not. He is an individual -- and therefore he is responsible not for societies ills but for his own actions and promisses.

There is no such thing as a human individual separate from society since the dawn of man. Even the most remote islands in the world get plastic litter on them and cabins deep in the woods have planes flying over them.

Same in most of the Southwest, Arizona's standard plan for a Jr. High School has 2 entryways on each side of the school with bars on them and no windows to the outside. Interior courtyards are usually all gravel, few if any grass; quite frankly, I am surprised they don't have them breaking rocks in the hot sun.

Not MRA, I don't give a flying fuck about them. The concern here is about justice in the grand scheme of things not some pissing contest between the sexes.
