Why does r/pics link to r/wallpaper? I just discovered r/wallpapers and it has almost twice as many subscribers. Why do we have these nearly-identical subreddits and why are they both popular?

I believe his plan is to have 50% paid content. Obviously that would piss off people so he went ahead with 100% paid, and in a few days he will release an 'update' which reduces paid content to 50%, and digg users will grudgingly accept that.
