to be fair I was a bit non-fussed about the whole thing, and I only planned to go watch the hand over on Newport Road out of respect to Lynn 'the leap' Davies. But bugger me, when I got there, there were thousands lining the street/s. Couldn't help feeling it was a great occasion.

Funnily enough, I only found out it was called 'X' when I tried to IMDB it, many apologies for the name, it's one of the greatest Welsh phrases we have.

No School Like the Old School--What are your favorite Universal Horrors? by vicarofvhsin horror

Love 'The Old Dark House', and so did Gene Wilder, he must have, because most of 'Haunted Honeymoon' seems based on it.

For lack of a better word, is there another horror subreddit less "Pedestrian"? by underthemilkywayin horror

[–]popty_ping 1 point2 points ago

I've been slightly put off from posting. In the recent 'reddit best horror' voting thing I put forward 'The Changeling', 'The Haunting' (1963) and 'The Innocents'. I don't think any actually made the final list, initially I thought it was a little depressing, then I realised that voting by reddit is extremely flawed.

One of my favourites is from 1932 The Old Dark House , atmospheric and well acted.

sounds like it'll be a glowing review from Kermode too, which is quite rare in itself.

Can anyone, with any certainty, tell me exactly when Shane Williams is quitting? It's a bit of a running joke in my office now.

The 'Cube' series is a nice little addition to any horror dvd shelf.

Every *Bond* (For Equality's Sake) by PetitMinouin movies

[–]popty_ping 1 point2 points ago

Dalton was a bloody great Bond in my opinion. The only reason audiences didn't like him was because they were so used to the comical era of Moore. Dalton's main problem is that audiences weren't ready for a dark, uncomical, cold killer.
