TROPHY CASE

TIL that Voyager 1 is close to entering inter-stellar space, exiting the field of the sun's effects and showing us what space is really like outside our solar system. by YettiRockerin todayilearned

[–]pegothejerk 1 point2 points ago

"The edge of our solar system is filled with a turbulent sea of magnetic bubbles, according to new NASA research." from here. So instead of being a dead zone, as far as sensors go, it's likely to be more active that we ever believed (though I suspect the signals will look like alternating currents of high energy noise. At least that would be interesting to study, so I hope it's true.

As the adage goes: The difference between America and England is that the English think 100 miles(160.9 km) is a long distance and the Americans think 100 years(1,011,439.94 episodes of Jersey Shore) is a long time.

It's kind of like making lenses out of liquid resin, like how a raindrop magnifies. Except, in this instance, certain materials have been found (by millions of trial and error experiments) that under very specific "cooking"-like conditions can create a lens that is exactly thin enough, exactly reflective enough, the material inside is kindof "wavey" in such a way that only a very narrow spectrum is allowed through the lens, the other parts of the light spectum bounce back. the properties of the materials can be adjusted for each new lens to create variations, making new lenses that excel at blocking, passing, reflecting, or refracting various spectrums of light. These lenses can be used to create certain lasers, certain experiments that test materials sensativity to light or energy, etc.

Anything higher than SPF 30 is a waste of money

Unless you're using that "80 SPF" stuff at surf shops, 'cause that stuff STAYS ON YOU FOREVER. Especially when surfing. That makes it worth the money, to me.

You're only hurting everyone involved by choosing not to act. Things only get worse, and you're probably not fully aware of her actions and thoughts outside the relationship. You never will, you must get a divorce lawyer now. Get a hobby that engrosses you, take a class, get a new job, something to which to direct heated energies. Trust me. I got a divorce for 125 dollars, and I'm way happier in my new life. In the old one I would have been a raging alcoholic who had a wife sleeping with at least 4 other guys. Instead i have the most amazing longterm girlfriend, who I will marry, her two boys, and a new successful jewelry and furniture line.

And no physical injuries. Money, stuff, emotions.. those heal and forget with time. Kids, physical injuries, and incarceration are some of the top priorities.

Well when you boil my opinions down (based on nothing but your own assumptions) to fit your argument, you're right, we're at an impasse.

where, out of curiosity, do you get the 25kya? Not questioning the correctness, I'm just looking for a modern (see: not the 1990s Scientific Article I read last time) source that someone thinks is fairly trustworthy in methodology.

No, I do not recognize that as I have not checked on their livelihoods and freedoms in the US or Iran of each and every minority, even by statistics, alone, but I DO read reports about wrongful deaths and murders cause by BOTH governments (and it's elected leaders / police / military / extremists claiming to represent the govts ideals) every single year, and lawsuits and oversight groups prove that there is much to be done in lowering the number of atrocities in each country. Both have murder, starvation, racism bigotry, unfair legislation aimed at various groups (and just the people as a whole), legislation based at least in part of ruling parties religious beliefs, etc. No, it is your job to show me the proof if you are claiming we (minorities) are better off, because that is YOUR opinion. I am not claiming we are worse here, just that our govts are similar in their function and problems (though not the same, absolutely agreed), and that those problems (that lead to death and/or the removal of the ability to pursue happiness) are more like each other and more likely to cause such atrocieties than the peoples of iran and the USA are. Simple really, and I fail to see why you are so intent on getting opinions out of me otherwise. My stance is clear.

[–]pegothejerk 0 points1 point ago

No I didn't. I was implying I agree that our govts are more similar to each other, even where deaths of it's own citizens is concerned, than the govts are to their people (if you compare the peoples mal intents or even negligence that leads to others pain or death).

[–]pegothejerk -2 points-1 points ago

a lack of lynching stories does not mean a lack or deaths due actions on the part of our govt or its leaders, but it's obvious you want to bury your head in the sand about all our local problems, especially if theyre tucked away on a reservation or in a dusty legal file.
