Yeah I thought as soon as he jumped and put his full weight on the chain, that was just unbelievably, stupidly risky of him. So at that point I assumed the chain was secured and that they aren't that stupid. Even with the chain secured though, that's still immensely ballsy.

Make a new steam account for your second copy. I don't even think you'll need to install the game twice since I'm pretty sure you can run from the same installations (I could be wrong here). Game keys are tied to accounts, so one character will be tied to your first steam account, and another to the 2nd account.

Just consistent spacing with say 32nd notes, then 16th notes, then 8th notes, then quarter, and so on.

Just increase the space in between each note on the grid by two for however long you want, and you get a nice slow down effect in the stutter.

Not too long for that particular stutter! Just a tiny slice, copy and paste, and arrange just like you would drums or something. Once you figure out what you want to do and how to do it, stutter effects are easy peasy! :3

Really that's the bulk of the work for a song like this or tracks by Wolfgang Gartner. Designing your sounds, bouncing channels to waves, then slicing stuff up and rearranging until it sounds nifty. Of course, not that simple since it's easy to get something that sounds like utter shit doing the same thing, BUT it is a fun thing to do and I recommend experimenting with it.

You can do that and hope to get a result you like, or you can record a channel that your synths are on to a wave, then slice and chop to your hearts desire. I'm betting that's what Porter did here.

Really you should use both techniques for whatever you want. But for specifically the one linked in Porter's track, it's just simple slicing.

Honestly, you could even draw that out with volume automation. Or filter automation. Lots of ways to do it.

I definitely agree, but I don't think they did that in Crysis 2. Crysis 2 looked noticeably lacking compared to Crysis, which led me to believe they didn't just optimize but also removed a lot of the art in the first place. Know what I mean?

I don't think it counts as optimization when you remove art that contributes to the immersion. Optimization would be cleaning up things you wouldn't notice in the first place.

To be honest, the first bit looks pretty good, the white theme. Only the glow seems a bit much around the spectrum. And the glow is what ruins the dark theme for me. That white glow on the dark theme looks ugly, and looks a lot less 'quality' than the background (you can see the gradient lines very clearly, giving it a low quality look if you know what I mean).

I just don't like the spectrum part as a whole. The background looks fucking great. Could you maybe come up with a different effect for showing sound movement?
