I live in Poland, it was unnerving to watch all these people crying (especially on the news) when JPII died. It's not over the top to say that he was a god for many Poles.

I wouldn't agree that all the religious stuff aside he was a great man. Child abuse cover up has already been mentioned. There was also helping the communist government (huge-ass loans) which ensured their rule for (unnecessary) many more years. His greatest achievement was to brainwash people about birth control, hence lots of unwanted children and huge STDs spread.

Nice job guys but I believe your pierogies are a little too big (native Pole speaking).

Use a cocktail glass (or at least smaller form) to cut out the dough -- it will spread even more while you fill it. It's all about dough/filling ratio. It's even better when you can eat one piece with at most two bites.

My favourite pierogies are the ones with cheese -- colloquially known as Russian (although really they are Polish). Add some bacon graves and you're going to heaven.

It's good that you're interested and prolific.

Unfortunately basic/intro articles is nearly all we have in this area. Rarely you can find some guide at the advanced level. Every time I start a new app in PyQt I wonder whether this project/code structure is right or wrong.

I'd love to hear from some long time PyQt dev(s) how to plan, design and write an application which is beyond an 100-line Hello World. On the other hand it's also no use to try and understand multi-MB codebases -- general concept and design is blurred and pretty much incomprehensible.

Well, I've to admit after switching to PyPy the performance went a few orders of magnitude up. Still I had to remove NumPy stuff (mainly basic linalg operations, ndarrays with dtype=object etc.) from my code to make it work under PyPy.

By the way, can I get you by mail (or some other private channel), if you don't mind?

Only tested trial version of Komodo IDE but IMHO it's a lot better than PyDev. Makes it easier to find most important features. It's also significantly faster.

Not much to say. He really was a IRL troll.
