Yes, it was pretty griefy of them to "fix" this non-issue and not address the shrike imbalance or any the host of other real bugs\issues that affect all users.

But my expectations have be lowered given that I'm frelling playing a game that requires flash! ಠ_ಠ

While griefy; he's illustrating the core flaw of hirez's chicken flavored CTF maps designs; hooker flags.

The maps are horridly skewed in favor of cappers; the frelling "minigame" (ಠ_ಠ) asset is better protected than the flag O.o

Also, since he's forcing the games to go longer that means more XP. Perhaps I should add him as a friend so I can milk some XP ;p

Why are you surprised? Tribes has been devolving into gotta-go-herp, cappy land since Tribes2. Ski-path accessible flags; seriously?

It's really not surprising that people don't consider defense high on their list; Hi-Rez actions speak quite clearly given the design of the game and the changes that have been made.

The saddest part about it is the math; only one player per team can cap. So it seems to me that catering to that limited player role doesn't seem to be clever strategy, didn't work for T2 and TV.

Skill, meh. Stop pandering to flag\cap whores; I see the flags are placed like a hookers selling their wares. Sad really, why even bother with bases? It's really not CTF, it's more of Kill the fool with the chicken.

I remember why the original Tribes was fun:

bases served a purpose (even in Desert of Death)
flags mostly were in sane locations. (eg you need skill not a derp path)
maps were big

Tribes encouraged team work. Working bases made it harder for attackers, a beacon\remote inventory station made base attacking easier, a well placed turret\mine gave an advantage, etc. It was just so much more nuanced than distilled herp\derp get the flag, since it usually wasn't' that easy.
