TROPHY CASE

This guy rocks a pizza place harder than some rock a packed stadium... by JayStayPaidin Music

[–]noiserr 0 points1 point ago

The thing is I am not hating on other mainstream, commercial, pop musicians. I don't care for most of them but I get that other people may like it.

I am only hating on Nicki Minaj... I listen to all kinds of garbage music, I am actually pretty open to all levels of shittiness in music, and sometimes I enjoy it, but her contribution to music doesn't have a single redeeming value. Which is fine I can usually tolerate that too, but in case of Nicki Minaj she had to use that mocking style of rap which really goes on my fucking nerves to the point that I want to punch the radio every time I hear it.

Budweiser is a beer that gives me a headache but I can understand that other people may like it so I got no beef with it. Drinking better beer is cheaper in my case.

Nicki Minaj

Thank you for calling her out. The level of cleverness that goes into her rhymes is on par with the level of cleverness that went into Rebecca Black's Friday.

Every time I hear Nicki Minaj I turn off the radio.

I hope Dzeko leaves.. he spent way too much time on the bench under Mancini, and even despite that he scored 2nd most goals.

That said, the penalties are ridiculous given the nature of the crime, but stating that copyright infringement is a victimless crime is just wrong.

  • If all those who downloaded a pirated copy of something were not going to buy the product in lieu of downloading, the victim has no damages, other than being upset about it because people watched content for free, which is the same as above mentioned heresy law.

  • Some liked the download and decided to buy the official copy to support the artist, which they wouldn't have otherwise done if it weren't for the download. I think balances out all those who downloaded instead of buying.

The operator of the file-sharing site is being persecuted for a victimless crime. He is your only victim in this case. Not the Universal Music Group (UMG) who have clearly not suffered in the slightest.

If he hacked into someone's bank account in the US would you still be upset that his computer was transferred to the US and he be tried there?

He didn't hack anyone's bank account in the US. He's charged with copyright infringement, a victimless crime.

For instance in Saudi Arabia saying a non-muslim prayer could end you up in jail. If I hosted a website with non-muslim prayers, should my computers be sent to Saudi Arabia?

Before writing the above code, I hadn’t realized how expensive random number generation could be. Simply taking the time to look for a faster function saved over 90% of the time spent.

I haven't looked at Numpy's source code but it's entirely possible that he went from using random to using urandom.

The difference is:

  • random: blocks when the entropy pool is empty but it generates better random numbers
  • urandom: doesn't block, however you will get more pseudo random numbers (less real randomness).

edit: it looks like numpy's implementation of random may indeed use urandom (I looked at the source as well).. python's os library offers urandom as well and it performs much closer to numpy's implementation:

http://stackoverflow.com/questions/7044044/an-efficient-way-of-making-a-large-random-bytearray?answertab=active#tab-top

ps. If numpy folks are using urandom as their default random provider, I am a little disappointed.

Often times those stores will also have Giant bikes as well. Sometimes Giant bikes are few hundred bucks cheaper compared to a similarly equipped Specialized or Trek bike.

Can anybody name a worse iPhone feature than minimizing the App Store everyfuckingtime you buy something? by wefandangoin iphone

[–]noiserr 0 points1 point ago

If it didn't it would be confusing as hell to the new users. "What did I buy, where did it go, how do I get to it?".

Besides more often than not, once you buy an app you want the AppStore to close anyways.. so even for experienced users it's not that bad. I don't understand your frustration. Are you just sitting there and buying apps 20 at a time or something? If yes that's not normal.

Google uses Java extensively in their other products. Traditionally Sun has been much friendlier to Open Source than Microsoft has. Microsoft has a long history of being the enemy of Open Source.

I don't think many anticipated Oracle would end up owning Sun and trying to destroy Java. My point is Microsoft has the option of doing the same.
