So ear hair is really an evolutionary response to culturally sanctioned monogamy?

Anyone ever hear of Knomo? I like the look of this briefcase and the price is more in my range than the standard MFA choices by mcbain7484in malefashionadvice

Does anyone have first hand experience with this and a Filson 256? I had settled on a Filson but am not too happy with the color choices. I like the color palette of these bags more, but would love an eyewitness account.

So, hats. I am bald, and it is sunny. I need a hat. by Fantasysagein malefashionadvice

I've been shaving my head daily since 2005 and believe me it is really not a big effort. I take my razor in the shower with me and spend 5 minutes shaving (and I have a big ass head).

Ipad 3 - 16G or 32G? by morkle13in ipad

[–]nielsforpokker 1 point2 points ago

I bought a 32 GB iPad 1 and then only a 16 GB iPad 2.

I won't be buying the new iPad, but based on my experiences I won't be buying 16GB devices again.

16 GB really only means 13,7 or something like that. That's already a bit of space lost.

Especially games, but also other apps are becoming huge. I bought the new infinity blade game and it took up about 1.1 GB of space. Install 5 of those and you are already starting to feel the space crunch. Also if you run low on space you'll fast be getting annoyed at how iOS handles updates. I had to delete infinity blade 2 every time I needed to update it because it needed more 1 GB of free space in order to download the update.

Ramble ramble. It gets pretty claustrophobic but it's workable.

Norway's mass killer Breivik 'declared sane' by giffoin worldnews

[–]nielsforpokker 1 point2 points ago

In fact Norway's response has been extremely reasonable - instead of trying to enact radical changes in an attempt to retroactively deal with a single psychopath, they have instead shown solidarity and a commitment to upholding their values.

They did rush through a law to guarantee that Breivik would be kept locked up for life whether he was deemed sane or not.

Jeg sad og skimmede igennem kommentarerne. En del briter virker fortørnede over at danskere ikke kan finde ud af at give en omgang, når man er ude.

Ellers er det det sædvanlige "nej fordi Dansk Folkeparti" gøgl.

If my friend Andrew had not given me a helmet, I would be dead. Always wear a helmet, always. by Silentwesin bicycling

[–]nielsforpokker 1 point2 points ago

Helmets don't impair your vision or hearing. It just sounds like, people want to rebel against mandatory laws.

But compulsory helmet use leads to fewer people cycling (because it messes up your hair and is a pain in the ass to carry around with you etc etc) which makes you less safe. When it comes to bicycling there's safety in numbers.

As mentioned earlier in the thread helmet use also influences drivers which become less careful when overtaking and makes you more prone to take risks (because you subconsciously believe the helmet will keep you safe).

hopefully one where women can take paid maternity leave

Ironically in societies where this has been the norm for some time paid maternity leave is now seen as an obstacle for women's career prospects and it's becoming increasingly common to have a certain part of the paid leave allotted to the father.

But a lot of cool apps still come out for iOS first (like instagram, flipboard and path). For some reason Android usually ends up an afterthought.

I just find it interesting. I live in Copenhagen where we also have a lot of bicycles and here people are pretty gender specific about their bicycles.

Denmark and the Netherlands are the safest countries for bicycling and as I understand this helmet wearing is not very widespread. Don't know how accurate the figures are (where I live in Denmark helmet use seems to be on the rise).

Since when do we allow gay marriage?

We have "registered partnerships" for gay people (and have had that since the late 80s IIRC) but since then we've been overtaken by pretty much any self respecting socially liberal country. It's a shame really.
