I agree, I rage at things like this, I had a friend kidnapped and forced into it, she still has scars. I would kill all the motherfuckers that traffic if I could.

That one is a different bacteria, Lactobacillus variety. Interesting enough in it's own right, but not the same.

Have taken vasopressin (years ago) no noticeable effect other than it gave me a massive headache (whatever dose) Read about it in the life extension book, Sandy and Dirk.

Lulsec busted by FBI by ricozain geek

I think the nature of what Anon is, makes it impossible to take it down. You might take down a few people acting under the name, and they might say "anonymous busted!" in the headlines, but it won't be true. We are ALL Anonymous. It's whoever picks up the flag.

By far the biggest threat yet: The U.N. wants a treaty to grant it unprecedented powers over the Internet by nextparadigmsin technology

The "this is stupid, why am I doing this" moment has always seemed to me to be the moment of progress. Right up there with the "there has to be a better way to do this" moment.

I personally think (which means nothing) that a group cannot be taken over and directed unless the person taking it over has the money, credibility, or charisma to do so, or the group has reached the desperate stage. If you try, there will be others that think, or, know, that they know more than you are are better to direct it (regardless of how wrong they are). If it was just a few individuals with some brains, then you can explain and all agree on the best course of action, but with a large group that wont work (not sure if you have ever been on a committee).

Best thing to do is work on your own plan and figure the answers, and keep involved in the large group. If your way is good, more and more people will jump on board as they reach the "there has to be a better way" stage. -or- if you want to take over, wait until the desperation moment and then show your solution as a shining beacon of hope.

I wish it was otherwise, I wish that people were all logical and always picked the best path, but I have found in my limited experience that it's more like the million monkeys typing the GA.

soooo... the advice you are giving me, should really be in the /r/darknet forum where it would do the most good, correct? That's the point. Enough people get involved then the odds of more knowledgeable, and useful people appearing goes up. I was playing with meshnets a long time ago when they were mainly working on them for 3rd world applications. I know the limitations. Back then I would try and tell people what a meshnet was and they would look at me like I was crazy and why do we need such a thing? Now there are hundreds+ here that are trying to find answers. Without groundswell, and people that know what they are doing helping, nothing will happen. Its easy to say that "hey it wont work, we don't have the technology" but if that is the case then FIND an answer, or help them find one, or if there is no answer, change the question.

If you don't have enough people wanting to go to the moon, then why would anyone bother to build a rocket?

While I agree in basic theory, I feel that if you get enough people that are trying to make something work, such as everyone trying to connect shouters, someone will suddenly come up with a new solution. They will be trying to connect shouters and think, "this is stupid, we should do it this way instead" ... but if you didn't have enough people trying to connect the shouters, you might lose the ones that come up with the answers. Whats the old saw? Science only proves what you can do, not what you can't.

If you do not try, answers will never come. If the mountain looks too big and you decide that its unclimbable and wait for a smaller mountain, you never get there. What they are doing is good, the failure to admit technological limitations is a GOOD thing, they will keep beating against it until there IS an answer. If there isn't' they will eventually have to admit it and change direction, but if you do not try you will never know. If they have to change direction, the progress they will have made will be invaluable as to what is needed. So... "makes a face" back

Big Forfeiture Case To Be Heard in Federal Court: Seeking to circumvent state law and cash in on the profits, local police dept and DoJ want to take and sell a family's motel because a tiny fraction of people who have stayed there during the past 20 yrs have been arrested for crimes by maxwellhillin TrueReddit

[–]nextedge 0 points1 point ago

Actually, I would think the law enforcement would be overjoyed that every crackhead and drug dealer are all in one place. They can hire a few people to keep watch on the place and make easy arrests. If they close it, then those people will be all over town, and harder to catch.

Not for the corporations, Rule#1, sue everyone :)

[–]nextedge 0 points1 point ago

You would sue the FBI etc, not with a chance to win, but o bring it to light. Even the fact that they would dismiss and say you cant sue them, you might get a chance of a reason, and use that in the corporate cases.

you are not suing megaupload, you are suing UMG, etc. UMG can't claim megauploads TOS.

[–]nextedge 2 points3 points ago

remember its not just the federal gov, you also have UMC etc, they have no immunity. Also, you could probably even start a case that it was at UMGs request that the FBI was involved, so the burden falls on UMG and any others. If it exceeds the bounds of small claims, then it will suddenly also have legal recognition.
