Blizzard delays Diablo III real-money auctions indefinitely by zakislamin Games

[–]nepidae 2 points3 points ago

Whoops, yeah I meant diablo. It was one of my first online games (along with warcraft 2 and command and conquer) so I have a strong tie to it. And when people say that the diablo3 launch was fine, I'm just baffled.

I'm not sure what punishment you think I am talking about. I don't think anyone, on either side innately deserves punishment. Punishment should be based on action, not nationality or "group".

It is not your fault. I'm sorry, I have no real advice or insight at the moment.

Diablo 2 was released over 15 years ago. No, it is not actually that amazing that it "works". I was able to play diablo2 every minute I wanted to. Don't get me wrong, I love both (or all 3) games but a company's history does matter. If I launched diablo 3, that would be amazing. Blizzard failing to launch diablo 3 and cutting multiple features is also amazing.

SMBC on Gay Marriage by Tobisluin comics

[–]nepidae 1 point2 points ago

To be honest this seems like a rare miss. War (not even adults understand it), and arithmetic are explained to children often, and even children know about kissing and playing doctor (not exactly foreplay, but a forerunner to it.)

I think, or hope, in 20 years, gay marriage will be as interesting to kids as straight marriage.

I will not respect you simply because you donned a uniform and went to the middle east. Ten years ago I probably would have.

I will respect you as a person, and you seem sharp, something I will respect.

To be honest we probably agree, but just come from exact opposite sides. (by the way I don't disrespect people for serving, I just don't automatically respect them anymore, I should have said "respect" instead of "care" in point 2.)

I still have a problem when people say that our involvement in the middle east after 20 years is somehow "defending our country."

Being a contrarian, for contrarian's sake is actually kinda shitty. I'm fairly certain samuel clemens understood that, he was a very smart person.

This is incredibly embarassing. Blizzard rolled out Diablo 3 like it was 2004. The game itself is amazing, and fun. The service is the opposite. Hell, even the social aspect i prefer ventrillo.

Why would you need a RES friendly version. Isn't RES supposed to be friendly? Seems like it would be easier to send a pull request to RES than to code a bot to fix this.

As I have continually said, my point is that both people work towards an in sync relationship. There is no such thing as only one side being out of sync. If A is out of sync, B is also out of sync.

Mitt Romney tells West Philly schools that small class sizes are a teachers' union "ploy" and don't improve education. What does? "Having families where there's a mom and a dad together." by jleonardbcin news

Conflating opposite sex two parents homes with education does not help anyone. Whether you are for them or against them.

I am against teacher unions, but for same sex unions/parents.

In addition, I don't think 1000 hours in west philly would prepare you to run the country. The skills ets are simply different.

I'm going to use this word again. Conflate.

What i think about Linux so far. by Monster-Godin linux

[–]nepidae 1 point2 points ago

I would suggest taking advantage of virtual machines as well, if you need to run windows software. Though it does depend on the power of your hardware. Actually having other linux VMs running under linux can be advantageous, but that is a different discussion.

Also, I don't know why anyone would "hate" linux, it is a tool. It would be like hating screwdrivers.

His priorities are his, and his partners, own business. If he doesn't respect his partners priorities, and she doesn't respect his, then obviously it won't work. It doesn't matter what is "normal", it matters what they feel. There is no normal person on the planet from what I have seen.

Could you elaborate?

My point is that if one gender changes, both should continue to work towards a common goal. If guys are out of sync, then wouldn't women also be out of sync (in heterosexual relationships.)

Harry C. Delmolino, an 18 year-old moderator of r/bicycling, was recently fatally hit by a motorists. Please be wary of cyclists on the roads guys! by My_Wife_Athenain self

[–]nepidae 5 points6 points ago

This is a tragedy. However (even as a cyclist myself) I see bikers run stop signs and stop lights consistently. The fact is that it is much harder to see a bicyclist than it is to see a car, even if they are following the rules. And the less bicyclists follow the rules, the less car drivers will pay attention to them.

There are some novelty accounts that are funny, until you see them 10 times in a day when you aren't even browsing reddit much.

There are some novelty accounts are are just fucking annoying.
