Need Arguments Against Free Will by zielkein philosophy

[–]nbca -1 points0 points ago

Even if it says if, he states it is his argument against free will. From that I think we can assume that he implies that God exists.

What were Nazi Germany's plans post-WWII in the case of an (unlikely) Axis victory? by Plastasticin AskHistorians

I'd say take it from there then. See if you can debunk his documentation. The fact that other people would question your documentation is no reason to exclude it.

That kind of reasoning could apply to anything really.

With that line of thought I could prove to you that the Earth is flat and 200 years old.

Even if he is not likable in your view, is he not right to ask for a primary source for this "Generalplan Ost"?

That's a lousy argument, why should we assume that God knows everything?

Also this would be more appropriate in /r/AskPhilosophy

It doesn't really matter if he is an hypocrite, if someone harassed you, you have every right to report it.

What a surprise: No Session ID Hacking after all by sandmacin Diablo

[–]nbca 1 point2 points ago

Linux in itself is not necessarily more safe than any other OS. The focus on breaching Linux has been on the server side simply due to the fact that it is the majority of Linux appliances out there. Desktop Linux comprises just over 1% of desktop computers and trying to 'hack' that and the incentive to 'hack' desktop Linux would be far less than 'hacking' other platforms with a bigger market share.

What would you do in the case you lost that database? :P

Penn on Hannity discussing libertarianism by Libertythoughtsin Libertarian

[–]nbca 0 points1 point ago

He was very active in the politics of his time serving as an ambassador for Florence. He was IIRC close to Cesare Borgia which he draws heavily on in "The Prince". He did not personally make any republic, but he has a comprehensive grasp of history from which he draws examples in both "Discourses on Livy" and "The Prince".

He is considered one of the founding fathers of modern political science.

A little bit about weapon damage some people don't know. by adalonusin Diablo

[–]nbca -1 points0 points ago

If a skill has 143% weapon damage and I have no intelligence and my weapon has 10-12 damage, would it be 143% of the dps, max dmg, min, average or different per swing?

If I have a wand that deals, say 10-12, damage how does it calculate the weapon damage it deals?

I am not talking about accountability. I am specifically talking about hiring people. If the people should decide these standards, how would you define what standards these were?

Why shouldn't the employer decide what these standards are?

They who lay the foundations of a State and furnish it with laws must, as is shown by all who have treated of civil government, and by examples of which history is full, assume that 'all men are bad, and will always, when they have free field, give loose to their evil inclinations; and that if these for a while remain hidden, it is owing to some secret cause, which, from our having no contrary experience, we do not recognize at once, but which is afterwards revealed by Time, of whom we speak as the father of all truth.

Is anybody using centos anymore? Any recommendations for a stable/secure enterprise distro? by LennyBruceLeeMarvinin linux

http://jblevins.org/log/ssh-vulnkey

It only affected Debian because they patched the package extensively, upstream never had the issue.
