Captain Marvel interview with NEW exclusive art! Is it July yet? by GreatWhiteRuffaloin comicbooks

[–]mtx 1 point2 points ago

On top of all this, there was a British superhero named Marvelman (famously reinvented by Alan Moore) who was pretty much a ripoff of Captain Marvel/Shazam. When Eclipse comics started reprinting and continuing Marvelman in North America they had to rename him Miracleman.

Moore introduced a female version named Miraclewoman near the end of his run. This new Captain Marvel (Ms Marvel) looks a lot like Miraclewoman. o_O

Marvel now owns Miracleman (I think).

Will these work? Building on a budget by Thegirlsnevercamein hackintosh

May I ask how you got sleep to work? I have the same board and I kind of have it working: I have to use the power button to wake. Waking using keyboard or mouse disables them from use when out of sleep.

The worst part of making a hackintosh by mtxin hackintosh

[–]mtx[S] 0 points1 point ago

Yup. Here's a cut and paste of the section I looked at:

For user with only Windows 7 DVD, follow these steps, as provided by UkonCornelias:

Once Windows 7 Setup is loaded, press Shirt + F10 keys at the first setup screen (which allows selection of language, keyboard and locale). A Command Prompt window will be opened. Run Diskpart, the built-in disk partitioning tool of Windows 7 with the following command: diskpart

Type in the following command one by one, follow by Enter key to create a partition (text in brackets are comments only):

list disk (to show the ID number of the hard disk to partition, normally is Disk 0)

select disk 0 (change 0 to another number if applicable)

clean

create partition primary size=80000 (create a partition with 80 GB space; to use entire disk as one partition, omit the “size=value” parameter switch; use similar command to create more partition if needed or create in Windows 7 after installation)

select partition 1

active

format fs=ntfs quick

exit

Type exit at command prompt to close Command Prompt window. Continue Windows 7 installation as usual. Remember to just highlight and select the partition just created when come to partition screen.

Good choice in Graphic Design computer? by Bigbuddhain graphic_design

Run OSX and Windows with a self built Hackintosh. I've been running one with an SSD for OSX and another for Windows 7. When I need to test websites I can run my Windows partition in a VM (Parallels) so I don't need to reboot. When I want to play games I boot my Windows partition.

I didn't like that when W7 is installed it makes that 200MB partition so I found an article that explained how to install windows 7 on one sigle partition. I accidentally picked the wrong SSD to install on.

SASS is awesome - here's why… by physics4lifein webdev

[–]mtx 1 point2 points ago

It all comes down to convenience:

  • assign colors to variables for easier editing down the road
  • using Compass with SASS: automatic vendor prefixing (gradients, rounded corners), commonly use code blocks are a codeword away (clearfixes, inline-block, etc)
  • nesting css - less typing, visually more logical looking

There's lots more advantages but those are the big ones.
