TROPHY CASE

A friend runs her own videography company. Her website has a contact form for potential clients. Today, she received this. by msingermanin WTF

What I liked was the fact that the black pimp think was easily the most mundane part of it!

US cyclists save $4.6 billion a year compared to motorists. Though biking and walking account for 12 percent of all trips in the USA, these transportation modes receive only 1.6 percent of federal transportation spending. by marcussantiagoin Frugal

There's no logical comparison to sleeping and transportation. Building more and more highways during peak oil makes a hell of a lot less sense than building coherent, transit-oriented communities that make non-driving transit of multiple types viable.

Whenever I think if her, I think of her when the Pah Wraiths took over her body, and yet still talked in that annoying, nasal voice.

Oh god, did I hate Keiko. Apparently, the writes of DS9 referred to a Miles-centric episode as "let's hurt the chief"; I call them "fuck you, Keiko."

I read it, and it doesn't matter. You're missing the point - the cops didn't use force to protect anyone from imminent danger; they used it as retailiation and to mete out justice. That is NOT their job and not their function in a civil society. I for one do not want rovInf gangs of thugs going around enforcing their idea of the law.

In what context is it ever okay for people to kick the shit out of someone lying prone on the ground? It doesn't matter WHAT happened before, at THAT point he was no threat to the officers or anyone else. What they did was nothing less than common thuggery.

Yeah, NYC is known as being so homogenous, why can't it be home to a diverse population like far-flung exurbs?

The grocery shrink ray is a well-known thing, yes; however, it is not necessarily a sign of rising food prices overall, nor is it a sign of inflation in the overall economy. It only directly affects prepackaged foods; foods sold by weight have shown remarkable price stability. Furthermore, this entire point is moot sine we're talking about non-foodstuffs, which is a comeetely different issue.

Also, I am not a government employee, but unlike some people I try not to disparage people based on their employer or profession. If you woul like, though, I do have a couple of friends who are economists working for Fannie Mae who you can scream at about the gold standard and flourodization of water supplies.

My mom is 65 and was a database programmer for IBM for 20 years. They flew her all around the world to show people how to use the scripts she wrote.

She still doesn't know how to enable wireless security.

[–]msingerman 2 points3 points ago

Any cost savings from housing will be more than eaten up by fuel and parking - gas is around $4 per gallon, and parking downtown will run you $200 a month easily. Live close to a metro, get a smaller place, and you'll save considerable time and hassle.

Fun fact: most drivers seem to think speeding is perfectly okay.
