Another vote for Avanti. Also, for pizza, there's Casa Bianca in Eagle Rock, which is awesome, though very different form Avanti in every aspect.

If your pet(s) could understand English for 5 minutes, what would you tell them? by whey_to_goin AskReddit

[–]monx 0 points1 point ago

I would tell them that I treat them as I would treat fellow humans because that is the only species of animals I have as a reference point and can attempt to understand emotionally. So, even if my actions sometime seem absurd to them, I would like them to know that I really care for them and love them. At this point, I would list some of the common things I do for them affectionately and would ask them to nod their head if they don't think of it as a show of love.

No one was murdered in El Salvador on Saturday, in what was the first homicide-free day in nearly three years. by geekchicin worldnews

I think the event of there being a murder on any given day (or hour) can be more closely governed by poison distribution, not the compliment of that event.

If I answer 20 Yes/No questions, (of Reddit's choosing) will Reddit be able to guess my real-life identity? Question # 12 by guessmyidentityin guessmyidentity

But there is no way to cross check a list of possible surnames against a list of possible universities to see of they intersect. I think we just pick one path and stick to it. The names path seems to be promising now.

Otherwise, at the end of 20 questions, we may end up with a vague idea about several of his attributes, which combined together may give a unique person, but we would not be able to find who that person is.

I think halving it works if we want the expected search length to be minimized. But here, we also have the constraint that the total search length is atmost 20. So, halving is not optimal. The optimal way to search would be to consider only search trees that have depth 20 or less and then pick the one with least expected depth.

Sorry for the rant. My inner CS nerd kicked in.

That's a pretty big hit.

We could use the same list to narrow down further. Also, the list of top male first names on this website might help us narrow down the first name.

I'm thinking he is a computer science, electrical engineering, or social sciences major guessing by his interest in crowd-sourcing. I feel the only way this line of thinking is going to work is if we can look up his name on a webpage of his school or department. My question would be

"Do you have a webpage hosted on the university server, your name listed on department website, or a personal webpage which lists your academic details?"

NBC (SOPA Supporter) caught stealing Apple's copyrighted artwork by KrazyA1phain apple

[–]monx 0 points1 point ago

Wow, the irony! The point that you are trying to make is precisely one of the many arguments against SOPA. Under the spirit of SOPA, Apple could ask NBC to shutdown its website even though the copyright infringement is an individual's work, not the company's.

The iPhone only has X amount of apps that it'll run in the background, suspend in memory, etc... what is the purpose of iOS leaving every app ever used in there? Seriously? You are griping over a feature that can be easily ignored if you don't like it, doesn't interfere with anything else, and can be useful if you really need it.
